As part of ABS-CBN Entertainment and GMA Network’s historic first collaboration series Unbreak My Heart, Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia shared just how thankful she was to be part of a project that is the first of its kind in Philippine network television.

In the series, she plays the role of Alex, a woman who falls for Renz (played by Joshua Garcia) while in Switzerland. The two get involved in a love triangle with Jodi Sta. Maria.

During their grand press conference, Gabbi revealed how it felt to share scenes with her co-stars Joshua and Jodi.

The 24-year-old actress admitted she learned a lot both in front and behind the camera after they starting shooting in Switzerland earlier this year.

“First of all, I’m very, very honored to work with two brilliant actors. I’ve learned a lot. Lagi lagi kong sinasabi yun. Everyday is a new learning day for me. Every taping day is a new learning day for me. 

“And I’m grateful because they’re such giving actors, they’re such generous actors. Hindi ako naka-feel ng kahit anong intimidation lalo na kay ate Jodi. Actually at first talagang kinakabahan ako maka-work siya kasi she’s an award-winning actress and I haven’t met her ever. So ang daming questions in my head na ‘shucks, sana maging okay yung connection naming dalawa.’

“But you know, God is just so good that He’s leading me to the right people to work with and ate Jodi is one of them. So I’m just really so honored to work like that,” Gabbi said.

Prior to shooting abroad, Gabbi revealed that she was already friends with her newest leading man.

“Joshua and I knew each other before this project. Kasi nagkasama na kami sa iba’t ibang gatherings with our friends so kumportable na kami sa isa’t isa prior to this project. And mas nakilala pa namin ang isa’t isa when we did this project.

“Alam naman natin kung gaano kagaling si Joshua Garcia, my goodness. Parang hindi na natin kailangan sabihin kung gaano siya kagaling kasi wala na siyang kailangan patunayan. Magaling na siyang aktor. I learned a lot from Joshua  every single day and I thank him for that,” she explained. 

Gabbi also revealed how much she enjoyed working with Joshua because of his considerate and polite nature.

“Josh is very respectful and maalagain. He’s very, very sincere and he’ll make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way,” she said.

When asked what for her was their most memorable scene together in Unbreak My Heart, Gabbi added, “Abangan na lang ninyo yung kitchen scene (laughs). Oh my God. Basta siguro yun. Hindi ko rin siya ma-gauge kasi nakatakip lang yung mata ko the whole time. So baka yun yung kailangan niyo abangan.”

Unbreak My Heart stars Joshua Garcia, Jodi Sta. Maria, Gabbi Garcia, Richard Yap, Laurice Guillen, Eula Valdes, Sunshine Cruz, Romnick Sarmenta, Victor Neri, Nikki Valdez, Jeremiah Lisbo, Bianca de Vera, Will Ashley, Dionne Monsanto, Maey Bautista, and PJ Endrinal.
