When asked if both of them had emotional baggage going into their marriage as they both came from broken families, Charlene replied, "I think that's what helped make things work for us. It gave us a goal to make our family complete and to really be with one another."

And after I said it, I really told myself, 'Wow I'm getting married, he's gonna be my husband.' And it was with a free heart. It felt so right and totoo pala 'yun. It's hard to explain," Charlene remarked.
