South Korean boy group EXO is set to release their seventh full-length album next month according to the announcement made by their entertainment agency, SM Entertainment, last Friday, June 9. 

Their upcoming album marks the group’s first comeback since the release of their special album, Don’t Fight The Feeling, back in 2021.

Only seven out of the nine members of the group will be actively promoting their latest album. EXO’s Chinese member Lay, is unable to participate in this comeback due to his solo activities in China. He was previously part of the special album after years of being inactive in group activities. 

Meanwhile, EXO’s Kai can’t participate in the promotional activities as he just enlisted earlier this year as part of South Korea’s mandatory military program. However, SM Entertainment assured the fans of the K-Pop boy group that his vocals will be present in the album as it was recorded prior to his sudden enlistment.

“EXO’s seventh full-length album will be released on July 10. As it is an album everyone has put their all into, promotions related to the album will proceed as planned. We will release more details soon,” SM Entertainment said in their official statement.

EXO-Ls was surprised about the sudden announcement made by SM Entertainment. The comeback became an instant trending topic on social media especially after netizens noticed that Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin will be in it as well.

The three EXO members had notified SM Entertainment about the termination of their exclusive contracts with the agency earlier this month. They previously requested copies of “transparent settlement reports and settlement grounds” which SM failed to do so.

Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin assured their fans that they will continue to work as EXO members regardless of the outcome of their legal battle with SM Entertainment.

Meanwhile, all seven members were spotted at the Gimpo Airport in South Korea last June 8. They are set to film a group reality show as part of their promotional activities for their highly-anticipated comeback.
