It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis shared her sentiments on the recent departure of Eat Bulaga hosts from TAPE, Inc. on May 31.

The host had nothing but praises for their noontime variety show counterpart when asked about their recent developments during her renewal as the national ambassador for UNICEF Philippines last June 1.

With It’s Showtime one of the direct competitors of Eat Bulaga, Anne acknowledged the show for setting the benchmark for noontime shows in the country.

“You know, we will always look up to Eat Bulaga. They are the longest running noontime show in the Philippines and we will always look up to them,” she answered.

Anne continued to praise Eat Bulaga for continuing to bring joy to the Filipino people for several years already. She shared that she looks up to them for what they’ve achieved.

“What a journey they’ve had up to this day, right? So we will always idolize them and they have set the benchmark for the Philippine noontime shows,” she added.

In a separate interview, her fellow It’s Showtime host Kim Chiu shared her thoughts on Eat Bulaga as well. Like Anne, Kim expressed her respect for Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon for being pillars in the entertainment industry.

“But for us, we just have to keep on supporting kung saan man sila magpunta, and that’s what they need also, the support. Lahat naman tayong mga artista kailangan natin yung suportahan talaga. Hindi tayo maghihilahan pababa, we have to push [forward],” Kim shared in a separate interview.

Meanwhile, TAPE, Inc. released a statement following the hosts’ departure from the noontime variety program.

“We are grateful to the men and women who worked tirelessly for the past 43 years to make our noontime show number 1. The success of Eat Bulaga is not dependent only on three (3) people but on the collaborative efforts of its talents, crew, and loyal viewers.”
