Unbreak My Heart actor Joshua Garcia was recently welcomed as the new brand ambassador of Tecno CAMON 20 Pro Series, a mobile phone hailed as the industry’s “steady vlog master”. The launch was held at XYLO at The Palace in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig last June 6, 2023,

“I feel very blessed, grateful, and honored na kinuha nila ako,” said Joshua. “I am excited to be part of this team.”

He shared that he got to have a chat with Tecno’s bosses when they first approached him to be the face of their brand.

“They told me na every country, kumukuha sila ng isang ambassador. This is the first time na kumuha sila ng ambassador sa Pilipinas,” he shared. “Kaya laking pasasalamat ko na ako ‘yun.”

Jason Wong, the company’s CEO, was present at the event and explained exactly why Joshua was the perfect choice to represent their brand.

“As you know, the Camon 20 Pro is iconic, stylish, and flexible,” he began. “Joshua is the person who greatly fits Camon’s image.”

At 25 years old, Joshua has already made a mark in the industry. He has shown his acting chops through the various projects that he has been entrusted with, dabbling in different genres and even platforms.

“In addition, just like Tecno, Joshua stops at nothing with his acting,” Wong recognized. “He always captures emotions in his videos and inspires us to express ourselves.”

It can be recalled that Joshua took social media by storm a while back when his TikTok videos that went viral. His first post in December 2021 was the “Ginseng Strip 2022” which hit millions of views in a matter of hours.

His charm captured the attention of netizens and had a lot of people mimicking or doing a duet with his post.

With this in mind, Joshua was challenged to do one of the trending TikTok dances on the spot. Five brave souls from the audience also joined Joshua on stage and accepted the dance challenge for a chance to win a brand-new Techno #CAMON20ProSeries phone.

Joshua chose the song “Feels” by Calvin Harris, featuring Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, and Big Sean. Joshua himself walked the contestants through the dance steps, teaching them the choreography one step at a time. They even did a second run with the music before the contest began. Through it all, Joshua joined them in dancing, to the delight of both the audience and contestants.

Like many people today, Joshua uses his smartphone daily in a variety of ways.

“I love shooting content, videos, photos,” he shared.

“Ginagamit ko siya sa social media, of course. Sa messaging, watching videos, scrolling on TikTok, and gaming.”

Not many people may know it, but one of Joshua’s hobbies is playing computer games. While he wouldn’t really call himself a very techie person, he does know his way around technology and machines.

“Gamer ako sa PC,” Joshua revealed. “Batang Counterstrike kasi ako e. Pixelated pa, nilalaro ko na ‘yun dati.”

Even with his busy schedule, Joshua manages to indulge in his games once in a while.

“Kapag nasa taping ako, ‘yung mga patay na oras kapag hindi ako kinukunan,” he shared.

Aside from gaming, Joshua also enjoys capturing pictures of people, places, and experiences. This is why one of the top features he looks for in a phone is a top-quality camera.

“Mahilig kasi ako mag-take ng photos,” he shared, adding that a good camera is also a necessity for all the content he posts online. “Kaya gusto ko maganda ‘yung quality ng camera.”

He also appreciates a phone with superior anti-shake technology.

“Mahilig din kasi ako sa mga candid moments,” he explained. “So kapag hindi shaky ‘yung video, mas naca-capture ko ‘yung mge emotions ng mga tao.”

The user experience is also an important factor, especially since people are quite dependent on their phone nowadays.

“Tayo naman kapag may bago tayong telepono, diretso tayo sa settings,” he said.

He agreed that while it is normal to take some time discovering a new gadget, it is important that users find it easy to navigate it.

“Para sa akin, maganda ‘yung madali lang aralin, ‘yung hindi komplikado,” he said. “Bakit ka ba nag-pho-phone? Para sa social media, para sa camera, para sa games.”

With all his commitments now, it is a wonder how Joshua is able to get any time for rest and recreation. In demand on- and off-screen, does he ever get tired of it all?

“Hindi. Na-e-enjoy ko ‘yung moment ko ngayon, ‘yung nangyayari sa akin,” he explained. “Good problems.”
