There have been speculations about Bimby Aquino Yap considering the possibility of entering the industry that his mother, Kris Aquino, has been a part of for so long. The youngest son of Kris is currently back in the United States with his mom after a short return to the Philippines. In the brief time that he was back in the country, he was spotted in talks with Cornerstone Entertainment. The fact that he met up with the talent agency’s executives was confirmed by Boy Abunda, who was present at the talks as Bimby’s guardian. “Totoo po ‘yan na doon sa pag-uusap namin ay we were trying to explore kung ano ang mga pwedeng mangyari — the possibilities,” confirmed Boy. It was also Boy who hosted the dinner. “We had dinner; I hosted a dinner for Bimb,” he said. Contrary to speculations, there was no contract signing that occurred. It was simply a discussion to see if a showbiz career was something that Bimby would be interested in. “It was more of an exploratory meeting,” clarified Boy. “[Kung] pwede bang mag-artista si Bimb, ano ba ang gagawin?”While Kris was not present during the said dinner due to ongoing medical treatments abroad, it was with her knowledge and consent that the meeting happened. “Meron po ‘yang permiso ng kanyang ina, ang ating kaibigang si Kris Aquino,” ensured Boy. He added the talent agency’s team has also flown abroad and it is hoped that they would be able to continue discussions with Kris and Bimby. “Kasulukuyan po, ang Cornerstone team ay nasa U.S. and we are hoping na magkausap si Kris at ang Cornerstone,” shared Boy. “Pati na rin po si Bimb ay nakabalik na po sa America.”It can be recalled that both of Kris’s sons have been with her while she is undergoing medical treatment in the United States for Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA). Her rare illness is expected to take at least 18 months for diagnosis and treatment. Kris sent home her eldest son, Josh, last March to be able to work on his weight loss. He was followed soon after by Bimby. Last May 18, Kris shared that she also planned to send Bimby back to the Philippines for good in the hopes that he can resume his studies in a regular school. It can be recalled that, up to that point, Bimby had been homeschooled. Knowing the difficulties of Kris’s condition, her sisters expressed their concern of having Bimby away from her. “He deserves to enjoy being 16. Thus, Bimby had to go back to the United States earlier than expected. With him was his Kuya Josh, who also decided that he wanted to be by his mom’s side in Los Angeles.
