Bea Alonzo and Dominique Roque get engaged: ‘We decided on forever’

After two-and-a-half years of dating, Dominic Roque and Bea Alonzo are now officially engaged. The couple shared snapshots from Dominic’s surprise proposal for Bea who was doing a pictorial at the scenic resort of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in the province of Bataan. The couple posted about their engagement on social media the day after the event.

In the post, Bea shared how totally surprised she was by the proposal, which Dominic executed perfectly with some help from celebrity fashion photographer Mark Nicdao. 

It was a balmy afternoon in Las Casas. I was there for a shoot, but little did I know that the next thing that would happen would change our lives forever.

“In the middle of the shoot, Mark Nicdao kept telling me to turn around because he wanted to shoot the back side of my dress, I found it a bit odd, but when I turned around, I found Dom kneeling with a box in his hand.”

In the same post, the 35-year-old actress described how she went through a multitude of emotions after saying “yes” to her boyfriend turned fiancė.

“You see, I have done so many proposal scenes in my entire career, but nothing beats the real thing. I have been doing it all wrong! Hahaha, Dom said his speech, and it’s like time stood still. Everything went in slow motion. And I felt different emotions all at the same time—joy, excitement, love. I started bawling (swipe to see my ugly cry 🤣), But I didn’t want that moment to end. I want this real thing to happen forever… and right then there… In front of the people we love… we decided on forever.. 💍,” she wrote.

In the comments section of their post, the couple received congratulatory messages from a lot of their friends friends in the industry including Cristine Reyes who wrote, “Congrats! Road to forever! 😍❤️😍🙏😍” and Aga Muhlach who commented, “Yaaaaaz!!!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Saya ko for you both sobra!!! Alam mo yan!”

Other celebrities who shared how happy they were for the couple included Pauleen Luna-Sotto, Maine Mendoza, Ivana Alawi, Jake Ejercito, Jameson Blake, Jason Abalos, Rita Daniela, Miles Ocampo, Matet de Leon, and Ara Mina, among others. 

Even before they became close, Dominic revealed in a past interview that he’s always been smitten with Bea from the time they were first introduced and they became friends. 

Dominic opened up in an 2021 interview that his love story with Bea only began in 2019 when they ended up celebrating Halloween together in Tokyo, Japan along with another celebrity couple Khalil Ramos and Gabbi Garcia. The finally went public with their relationship in 2021 when they went to the US together and finally posted unmistakable sweet couple photos. Last year, Bea threw a surprise birthday bash for Dominic at a five-star hotel in Makati City. This year, they will celebrate Dominic’s 33rd birthday on July 20 as a newly engaged couple.
