Veteran comedian-actor Michael V. expressed his desire to work with Unkabogable star Vice Ganda in the long-running GMA Network gag show Bubble Gang. 

During the media conference for the newly-relaunched comedy show, Michael admitted he wanted to do a skit with Vice. 

Bubble Gang is set to make a television comeback this coming Sunday, July 9, with new cast members, which include Cheska Fausto, EA Guzman, and Buboy Villar.

Michael said he is hopeful that the It’s Showtime host will be able to guest on the variety program, revealing that they already discussed the possibility of collaborating on the show. He added that Vice “has always been open to collaboration.”

“The last time we met, the last time na nag kausap kami, lagi niyang sinasabi: [sana] makapag-guest ako sa ‘Bubble Gang,’” he shared.

He also said that he wants to do the Mr. Assimo skit with the Kapamilya comedian should he be given a chance to work with him in the future. 

Mr. Assimo is a character Michael plays in a skit on Bubble Gang, wherein he responds sarcastically to people who are stating the obvious.

The Mr. Assimo skit became a hit with the public, popularizing the phrase “Hiyang-hiya naman ako sayo?!” towards the end of each of the skits while facing the camera with a seemingly surprised look. 

“I think, yung top of mind, si Mr. Assimo and Vice Ganda,” he added.

In a past episode of It’s Showtime, Vice shared that it has always been a dream to guest on the late-night comedy show but wasn’t able to do so because of the show's “high standards."

“Ewan ko. Di naman ako nakapag-guest doon. Alam mo, dati, lagi akong guest sa ‘Idol Ko si Kap,’ pero diyan, di ako nakapag-guest. Dream ko iyan dati, ‘yung Bubble Gang,” he shared on It’s Showtime.

Previously aired late at night, Bubble Gang has been moved to an earlier timeslot and will soon air starting at 6 PM as part of its relaunch. The comedy show previously celebrated its 27th anniversary last November 2022.
