‘Cheongdam International High School’ star Lee Jong-hyuk recalls visiting Cebu six years ago

There are so many reasons to love the Philippines — and that includes our beach destinations which tourists from all over the world keep coming back for. South Korean actor Lee Jong-hyuk, for one, can attest to the beauty the Philippines has to offer.  Long before Jong-hyuk became the rising star that he has become today, the Cheongdam International High School actor visited the Philippines for a vacation — and yes, he enjoyed every bit of it.Jong-hyuk, said he visited Cebu and enjoyed every bit of it, soaking in under the sun while enjoying the beach all day long. He also called it an unforgettable experience.“I traveled to Cebu 6 years ago, and I want to visit again and play, enjoy, and relax at the beach all day long. It was a truly unforgettable memory for me, who loves summer and water,” Jong-hyuk said.<div><iframe width="956" height="538" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2xl4EO3jM4k" title="Cheongdam International High School | 清潭國際高等學校 Teaser 2" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>Meanwhile, Jong-hyuk also shared what makes Cheongdam International High School — which revolves around a murder mystery story — different from shows of a similar genre. “I think what is different from other high school revenge dramas is that this series deals with the lives of chaebol (rich) students and that it is not known until the end as to whom the revenge should actually be targeted at that is right,” he said.On how he prepared for his role in the show, he said: &quot;When I look into Do-eon’s behaviour and words, he seemed that he had a strong desire to never reveal his inner self to others. He seems very thorough with a clear goal than anyone else and put it into action, but in fact, he is sloppy and confused every moment. And he tries to hide that part of him which leads him to behave more harshly and sensitively. Considering this title’s genre, I wanted to express that in a more exaggerated way.”Jong-hyuk also shared his most favorite scene from the show which K-Drama fans should definitely watch out for.“The scene in which I have an argument with Hye-in on the roof is very memorable. Among many of Do-eon’s appearances, it’s the look only shown in front of Hye in. It is the scene that depicts Do-eon’s goals, wounds, and inner side the most, which I think is the scene that touched my heart the most as I play the role of Do-eon,&quot; he said.&quot;The scenes where I constantly have conflicts with Hye-in and Jenna were the most challenging. As a character of Do-eon, I was bumped, broken, confused, and tried to hide the confusion, but I couldn’t hide them at all... these moments were really difficult,&quot; he added.Being a relatively new face in the industry which so much potential ahead of him, Jong-hyuk also talked about some of the projects he wants to do in the future.“I want to play the pure love of a nerd boy in a school setting. I’d like to act in a love story where the male character grows as he goes through complex emotions and experiences in various situations. I also want to try the intense action genre.
