Kristel Fulgar opens up about why she was not able to host Seo In-guk’s fan meet

Kristel Fulgar spoke up about the reason she was not able to host the fan meeting of Korean actor-singer Seo In-guk in Manila.

In a vlog she posted on Tuesday, August 15, Kristel said that it was the first time in her career that she was able to encounter such a situation.  

"First time kong naka-experience ng ganitong scenario sa 20 years ko sa industriya ng entertainment. Nandito na ako 7 a.m., nag-rehearse and then eventually sinabihan ako ng Korean technical director (from HY Official) na hindi na daw ako magho-host," she shared.

Kristel said that it was the only hosting event that she accepted because she wanted to do it for her idol.

"Ang tagal ko 'tong prinepare, ang tagal kong prinepare ang sarili ko dito. Wala akong ibang tinaggap na hosting kundi ito lang event na 'to kasi nga dahil kay Seo In-guk. Alam ko hindi naman ako super expert sa hosting pero alam ko na kaya kong kumonek sa kapwa ko fans ni Seo In-guk kaya 'yun talaga pinakagusto ko," she stated.  

Kristel remarked that she was not only going in as a host but also as the representative of In-guk's fandom.

She continued: "Eleven years akong fan ni Seo In-guk kaya kahit hindi ko forte ang hosting, tinanggap ko 'to kasi tinitingnan ako as representative ng fans ni Seo In-guk so hindi lang ako basta maging host sa stage kundi magiging fan ako."  

Kristel shared that the production team thought that she lacked the energy during rehearsal.

"Since rehearsal 'yun hindi ako sanay na ibigay ang 100 percent ng energy ko. So kung nakulangan sila sa energy sa rehearsal sabi ko po 'I will do my best.' Nagi-expect ako na ipapaakyat ulit ako sa stage para maipakita ko 'yung 100% na sinasabi ko pero hindi daw and currently nagco-contact na sila ng ibang host," Kristel shared.  

The content creator expressed her sadness that she was not given a second chance to host the event.

"'Yung sinasabi nila na gusto lang namin na magiging magandang event. Hindi man lang ako binigyan ng second chance na mapatunayan 'yung sarili ko. At nahihiya ako sa mga taong nag-expect na ako 'yung haharap sa kanila. I'm so sorry guys," she said while turning emotiional.

"Alam kong may mga fans ako, supporters na bumili ng ticket para mapanood ako sa stage, para makita niyo 'yung kilig ko pag nasa stage na ako with Seo In-guk pero hindi ko 'yun mabibigay."

Before the event started, Kristel was able to interact with In-guk backstage.

During their conversation, In-guk expressed his concern about what happened.

"Are you alright?" In-guk asked Kristel.

"I'm okay. I'm not gonna be hosting anymore. Have you heard about it?" Kristel asked.

The Korean actor responded: "Yes I also heard about what happened. Things suddenly changed and I didn't know what was happening."

"It's such a waste but it's fine," Kristel said.

In-guk then hugged Kristel.

"I was also surprised when I got the message. They just told me that it was just sorted that way. I actually got so worried," In-guk stated.

Kristel remarked that In-guk showing his concern and checking up on her really made her heart melt. She also thanked the team of In-guk for cheering her up.
