Former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate Karen Bordador broke her silence as she recalled hosting Seo In-guk’s fan meeting last Saturday, August 12. In her latest YouTube vlog, she narrated what happened that day and how she landed the hosting duties for the fan meeting.

Karen replaced former child actress Kristel Fulgar for the hosting duties which left netizens and fans puzzled.

The former PBB housemate shared that the hosting opportunity was a surprise for her as she was about to have lunch with her mother when multiple numbers were calling and texting her.

“Normally, if someone asks me to host a day before or on the day itself, I would say no. But for some reason, my instincts said ‘go for it.’ A lot of people really did message me to be part of this only on the day itself. A few hours before the event,” she recalled.

Karen admitted that she was nervous as she didn’t have any stylist and all the make-up artists she called couldn’t make it due to the lack of time to prepare for it. She continued to share that she took on the challenge and said yes anyway.

Prior to Seo In-guk’s fan meeting, she already had experience working with Korean staff as she hosted Park Bom’s concert earlier this year. Karen remembered how strict the management was and even had six rehearsals during the day itself.

“As the emcee, you wanna make sure that the star is gonna be so comfortable with you,” she added.

The 31-year-old Kapamilya host added how she didn’t even have the time to read the script since the show was only a few hours away and she had to learn the blockings on stage as well. She revealed that while the show was going on, she was reviewing backstage to make sure she would do her hosting job correctly.

Karen continued that she didn’t know what happened between the event organizers and Kristel as it wasn’t her business to begin with.

“I really didn’t know what transpired earlier because that’s none of my business. The point is they needed me that time [and] I just told myself 'I wanna make sure my mind’s gonna be 100% focused on this one,’” she said.

She ended the vlog by thanking the fans who showed their support on social media amidst the negativity thrown at her.

“What I really wanted is to ensure all the fans of Seo In-guk would have so much fun, that’s the most important part…I love all the messages you guys sent me. Hosting is a passion of mine…I’m just so glad you guys enjoyed your time with your oppa,”  she ended.
