Thai actor Win Metawin and Kapamilya star Janella Salvador created a buzz after production house 28 Squared Studios earlier announced that the two are starring in a film called Under Parallel Skies.

Having received positive feedback from fans around the world, the movie’s director, Sigrid Bernardo, expressed her appreciation in an interview with PUSH.

“I am grateful for the buzz surrounding our movie announcement. I want to express my sincere appreciation to the fans for their support. While I can't reveal too much, I can promise that we have poured our hearts and souls into this project,” she said.

Working with one of Thailand’s premier actors – Win Metawin, Direk Sigrid described him as a professional and talented artist. Off-cam, she said that he is friendly and funny.

“Collaborating with Win Metawin has been an absolute pleasure. His talent as an actor is undeniable, and his professionalism on set is commendable. He quickly became warm and approachable, effortlessly connecting with the entire team.”

As the team filmed for a month in Hong Kong, she added, “Win's ability to lighten the atmosphere with his humor and positive energy has been invaluable, making our working days enjoyable and productive. It has been an incredible experience witnessing his growth as an artist and building a strong rapport with him.”

When asked about her memorable experiences with him, Direk Sigrid praised Win’s hard work towards his acting.  

“One of my most memorable memories with Win is witnessing his unwavering dedication to his craft. He consistently went above and beyond to truly understand and embody his character. He put in extensive effort to prepare himself mentally, physically, and emotionally for each scene. His willingness to explore the depths of his character's emotions were truly remarkable. Working with Win was a constant reminder of the power of passion and hard work in creating something truly extraordinary,” she relayed.

Likewise, Direk Sigrid has nothing but kind words for Kapamilya star Janella Salvador. Saying that working with her is “an absolute pleasure” too, she added that, “Janella brings a level of depth and authenticity to her roles that adds a powerful dimension to the film.”

“One of the things that sets Janella apart as an actress is her ability to tap into her emotions and truly connect with her character. Off-camera, Janella is an absolute joy to work with. She is very warm and her open nature allows for effective communication, making it easy to discuss scene ideas or explore different approaches to her character's development.”

Direk Sigrid also recalled how Janella approached the heavy acting scenes in the movie, citing it as her most memorable experience with the actress. She said, “My most memorable experience with Janella was her commitment to her characters especially during sensitive and emotionally charged scenes. She brings an incredible range of emotions and her eyes speak volumes even before delivering her lines. She is capable of giving intense dramatic performances and witnessing her range as an actress is truly memorable.”

Direk Sigrid was also the director of the hit 2017 film Kita Kita. In what ways will Under Parallel Skies going to be different from her previous project?

“Kita Kita focused on loving someone even when you can't see them, while Under Parallel Skies is a film that explores the power of genuine love and finding happiness in unexpected circumstances. I hope that audiences will embrace this new journey and connect with the characters and their experiences in a meaningful way,” she answered.
