Anne Curtis explained why she has not been on It's Showtime.

The actress shared that she had been training in preparation for a film project.

"I am working on something special with direk Erik Matti so that's why I haven't been on Showtime. I know people have been asking, 'Nasan ka?' But I have been preparing and training for a special project with Erik Matti," she said in an interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News.

Last August 27, Anne posted snapshots of her training with the Philippine military on her Instagram page.

When asked about her experience with the said training, Anne admitted, "[It was] challenging of course, physically and mentally, but it was great to really immerse and get the feeling of what I have to prepare for my role, for what I have to prepare mentally and physically of course for the role that I will do."

Anne did her training with the 201st Infantry Kabalikat Brigade for two days.

"We woke up early, we did the obstacles, we ran with them and 'yung mga sir and ma'am maraming salamat ulit sa patience ninyo," she said.

Anne remarked that military training takes a lot of hard work and dedication. "Sabi ko nga sobrang timing na the very next day it was Araw ng mga Bayani so it was just so [appropriate] to do a snappy salute because they are our modern day heroes."

Anne shared that her film with Erik will be released next year.

It was in February when Erik announced his movie with Anne. It can be recalled that they previously worked together on the action film Buy Bust in 2018.

"We don’t shoot movies that are fast and easy. And with someone like Anne who already knows how much bucketloads of blood, sweat and tears it’ll take to do our kind of movies and yet is still so excited and passionate with the story we are going to tell," Erik posted on social media.

"We can only give it our best to someone like Anne who is hungry to not just make good work but to also pour in the hard work it takes to get it done. Love ya always! Excited for 2023!!!" he added.
