James Reid and Issa Pressman are starting to slowly open up about their relationship.

In an interview with PUSH Bets Live during the Preview Ball last week, the pair — who confirmed their romance last March — talked about the challenges they’ve faced in their relationship and how these have strengthened them as a couple.

“I think that for every single couple who goes through challenges, that’s a good test to know how you’re going to be there for each other. I think that moment really proved to me how much of a supportive boyfriend I have,” Issa said.

“I really felt like, I wouldn’t have gone through that situation if it wasn’t for him. He really made me feel comfortable, strong, safe, very much protected. And he always made me see the positive in every single negative, you know, and that brought up the positivity in me… But I’m happy. We’re happy,” she stressed.

Meanwhile, James said, “I said what I had to say and yeah… now we’re just living our lives and we’re very happy.”

According to Issa, he and James are obsessed about taking care of each other. 

“He’s obsessed with me, I’m obsessed with him,” she said. “Like making sure that we eat, making sure we’re eating right… He’s making sure that my health is correct because of my throat operation. He makes sure that I don’t talk much when I’m not supposed to.”

Regardless of what they’ve been through in their relationship, James said he and Issa are stronger than ever. 

“It’s honestly better than ever. Like, we’ve been through a lot this year and it really tested us and it made us even stronger, like, more than I could’ve imagined. And I’m just happy,” he stressed.

James, 30, and Issa, 26, went public with their relationship after the pair was spotted attending the Harry Styles concert in Manila last March.

In a statement confirming their romance, James stressed that the past rumors involving him and Issa “are just that, rumors.”

"I usually NEVER address bashers or get involved in hate culture but I feel the need to speak up now because this is the start of something beautiful. And I'm not gonna let anyone take that from me," he said.

"All you need to know from me is that I'm the happiest I've ever been," he added.

The actor was previously in a long-term relationship with actress Nadine Lustre. He and Nadine confirmed their split in January 2020 after being together for nearly four years. 

Since then, Nadine has moved on and found new love. She’s currently in a relationship with Christophe Bariou, a Filipino-French businessman who owns a resort in Siargao. The two sparked dating rumors in 2021 before finally confirming their romance last year.
