Zoomers’ directors, Laurenti Dyogi, Theodore Boborol, and Chad Vidanes shared what they saw in the new set of young stars whom they believe will reach even bigger heights in the future.

At the media conference for the Kapamilya show, Zoomers, last Monday, January 22, ABS-CBN Star Magic and TV production head, Direk Lauren shared why they chose to shine the spotlight on fresh stars in the new online series.

“Kapag bago, we make sure na tama yung mabibigay namin na role lalo na ngayon, it’s a make or break. Yung one time opportunity can be your last opportunity,” he said.

He also detailed what they considered in finalizing the official cast for the series.

“May chemistry din kasi binubuo lalo na yung love story… Mayroon yang physical compatibility, may emotional compatibility.. Hindi siya madaling process,” the starmaker revealed.

He also added that the directors chose to air the audition process to show how a potential star gets their chance to show their capability as a talent.

“Kailangan maramdaman nila na you have to work for it,” Direk Lauren expressed.

“It was not just casting.. At the same time malalaman o makikilala sila…” he explained.

“Importante na tumataya sa bago dahil ‘di ba yung future ng industriya nasa bago. It’s a cycle,” Direk Lauren added.

Award-winning and blockbuster film director Theodore Boborol also noted how the young stars actually waited for so long to have their break in the industry which they saw during the audition process.

“Some of them.. They've been here in the business already, they were not just given the right break,” Direk Ted said.

The director also commended the creative process of the online series, which he found very effective, specially because the actors are part of the generation they are portraying.

“For me, kaya kami sumugal sa bago kasi tama yung process ng creatives. Pinaiinterview kami ng upcoming stars and then from their stories,  gumawa kami ng kuwento about Gen Z. And for me, mas maganda yung kuwento ng Gen Z tapos yung nagpoportray mga Gen Z (din),” he remarked.

“It's very fresh na kuwento nila 'to and sila mismo yung gaganap ng characters,” he added.

He’s Into Her director Chad Vidanes also revealed that he had a fun time working with the new stars.

“It was a fun project, a fun experience,” Direk Chad said.

He added, “I love working with new talents as well because yung grit talaga nila yun yung gusto kong makita talaga from the start.”

The director also noted how the fresh talents were much easier to work with as they could easily absorb what was being instructed to them.

“Parang ang strength ng new actors, kumbaga wala pang template. You can play with them.. Mas natural. Acting kung acting,” the director remarked.
