Ruby Ruiz graces ‘Expats’ premiere night with Nicole Kidman

Linlang star Ruby Ruiz conquered Amazon Prime Video series Expats premiere night in New York City alongside Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman.

Bringing Filipino pride to Hollywood, the acclaimed actress plays the role of Essie, a struggling nanny to Margaret's (played by Nicole) family.

Ruby shared on her Instagram some of her moments together with her co-stars during the series premiere night.

“What an incredible experience i will always remember! My FIRST premiere for EXPATS held at MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art). Thank you @primevideo and to the entire Amazon staff who made these all possible❣️,” the actress wrote.

Ruby also posted a separate photo with Nicole and filmmaker Lulu Wang enjoying their night together.

“Grateful for these two women ❣️,” Ruby captioned.

She also posted a video of themselves sharing a glass of wine as everyone applauded.

“Cheers to EXPATS!!!! 🥂🥂🥂,” she said.

Celebrity friends couldn’t help but express excitement and congratulated the Filipina actress for marking a milestone in her acting career.

“Congratulations tita!!!! Bravo Bravo! I can’t wait to watch! ❤️,” actress and It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis wrote.

Her co-star, actress Sarayu Blue also expressed love for Ruby, whom she is fond of working with.

“I love you so much @rubyruizzz (Ruby Ruiz)!! You gorgeous, brilliant 🌟🌟🌟,” Sarayo said.

Pamilya Sagrado actress shaina Magdayao also commented, “Yay!!! Nakaka proud ka, Tita Ruby! 🇵🇭❤️‍🔥 Sooo happy for you!!!”

In an exclusive interview with Vogue Philippines, Ruby shared that the six-episode series is a must-watch for the global Filipino community.

“I think that it is a must that Filipino diasporas around the world, not just overseas migrant workers, that they watch Expats because they can identify with the plight of Essie… the sacrifices, hard work to earn a living away from home,” she expressed.

The Filipina actress previously expressed how she felt working with Nicole Kidman and the whole Expats crew.

“While I was doing the scenes with Nicole and the rest of the cast, they were amazed kung gaano tayo ka-professional, kung gaano tayo kabilis kumuha ng directions, ng instructions,” she shared in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News.

“She held my hand and she told me ‘you are so good’. Ako siyempre parang in disbelief and feeling ‘huh? ikaw naman’, and I hope I was para hindi naman mapahiya yung ano natin.. I’m not only there as a singular actor but I represent not just the Filipino actors but the OFWs because of the role I’m playing,” she added.

Apart from her much-awaited Expats, Ruby’s other trending series also made waves online with its pilot episode on Monday, January 22.

The teleserye version of Linlang scored multiple trending topics on social media and hit 367,069 live concurrent views on Kapamilya Online Live.

Ruby played the role of Lola Pilar, Kim’s character Juliana's grandmother.

Linlang: The Teleserye Version airs at 8:45 p.m. after FPJ’s Batang Quiapo on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, iWantTFC, and Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

The show is also available to viewers on iWantTFC, while viewers outside of the Philippines can watch on The Filipino Channel (TFC) on cable and IPTV.
