Actress Lovi Poe co-produced her new film, Guilty Pleasure, with Regal Entertainment.

During their film’s media conference last Thursday, October 10, Lovi said what made her decide to expand her career in producing films.

“What made me do this was actually, I always loved writing my own stories and concepts. I remember it started po with our film, Seasons, with Regal. I came up with that concept and then suddenly, it was just nice to be part of the process and then biglang may script na kami and then nagcast na and then everything just came together, and then we were taken on by Netflix,” she told the press.

Lovi then shared how she also wanted to take more off-camera roles, including writing scripts for her future projects under her own film production company, C’est Lovi Productions.

“I was just like, ‘Wow, I can keep doing this’ kasi there are so many stories I want to tell and showcase and eventually get into scriptwriting” she said.

Lovi also shared how her new film is a special project as she will not only star in it but also co-produce the film with Regal Entertainment, which has been her second home since she started her career and now that she’s entering a new one.

“First of all, working with Regal, I’ve been a Regal baby since I started. To be honest, it’s really an honor for me to working with Regal and Ms. Roselle (Monteverde), Mother Lily (Monteverde) because you know they’ve been a very established company for so many years and then the fact that they are here to support me in my new venture, I’m just really, really grateful. The fact that I can even call Ms. Roselle and ask for some advice on like a random day, I'm thankful,” Lovi happily stated.

She also expressed gratitude to Regal Entertainment CEO Roselle Monteverde for being her mentor in being a producer, as well as to her husband, Monty Blencowe.

“My mentor is Ms. Roselle because of the fact that I can call her like anytime. Thank you, Ms. Roselle. I'm really grateful. My husband, as well, since he produces films abroad, so he teaches me,” she said.

Even if she is starting her own path as a producer, Lovi remains a Regal baby as she will always work with the oldest producing company in the Philippines as an actress and also now as a producer.

“I absolutely would want to be part of anything about Regal, that’s 100 percent,” she remarked.

Meanwhile, Lovi got real that she also encountered difficulties in producing her new film, but she positively sees it as motivation to do more.

“I feel like it’s any other business right. kasi sanay ako maging actor. Now, I’m starting something new, I’m getting into producing, nangangapa ako and you know dealing with a lot of people,” she shared.

She went on: “Of course it's a bit of a headache, but then ganoon naman talaga. If you want to grow, you have to go through all these stages and you know the outcome will always be great. I’m going to keep creating more especially if i'm working with such amazing actors, director, writer, I mean everyone. So yes, one hundred percent, I’m gonna keep on doing more.”

Guilty Pleasure, starring Lovi, JM de Guzman, and Jameson Blake, is produced by Regal Entertainment and C'est Lovi Productions. The film is one of the last three project titles approved by the late film producer Mother Lily.

In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Lovi said how grateful she is to the production house for showing her their utmost support.

“The fact that I am now part of this collaboration of C’est Lovi Productions and Regal Films, it was such an honor. I just can’t believe that I got to partner with the benchmark of the entertainment industry," she said. 

"Regal is one of the established and successful production companies in the Philippines and I’m truly grateful. You can really see how much they support their Regal babies. Since I started as an actress, they have been very supportive, as well. Now that I’m venturing into a new job, I’m just so glad that Regal is still be my side," she continued.
