Catriona Gray marks arrival in Mexico for Miss Universe by unveiling floral-themed portraits

Catriona Gray marked her arrival in Mexico for the Miss Universe pageant by sharing the snapshots of her floral-themed photoshoot on social media.

"Hola Mexico!! I'm over the moon to have touched down in your beautiful country! No puedo esperar a conocerte más, México(I can't wait to get to know you more, Mexico)," she posted.

The former Miss Universe remarked that she is thankful to return as a host for the coronation night of the pageant. 

"Grateful to have been invited back to serve as your backstage host for the 73rd @missuniverse competition, which is happening this Saturday November 16th. Who's your bet? 👑" she said.

In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Catriona remarked that she is thrilled to return as a host for the pageant.

"[I'm] excited. First time ko to be going to Mexico so I'm really going with fresh eyes. I will be documenting it as well kasi I always do that whenever I go to a new place," she stated.

The former beauty queen also expressed her excitement on seeing fans cheering for their favorite candidates during the pageant.

"I think the Latin Americans as well as the Asians share that really big and loud love for pageantry, so I feel like the girls are really going to be cheered on and celebrated and that's the aspect of pageantry that I really love," she stated.

The Miss Universe 2018 also expressed her support for Philippine representative Chelsea Manalo.

"I have very high hopes for her. I think she has incredible stage performance," Catriona stated.

She added: "I would love to see her personality come out more but I'm sure she's being tactical about it and I think she's just having fun. She has a very youthful presence about her so I'm excited to see how that transforms on stage."

On her tips for Chelsea, Catriona replied: "Really just to give it her all. I mean at this point of the competition you're prepared as much as you can possibly prepare noh, so you're there, be present and just perform."

"I feel like she's been so well supported by the Filipino people as all of our Miss Philippines are and I'm just really excited to see what she lays out on that stage for us all," she added.
