Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque have finally broken their silence regarding their separation.

They shared a joint statement on their respective Instagram accounts on February 11, nearly a week after Boy Abunda confirmed their split.

The couple had planned to get married this year, but they decided to call it off.

“After much thought, consideration, and care, we have mutually decided to amicably end our engagement. It was not an easy decision. We wanted to have more time to carefully deliberate and pray about it, but there have been many speculations, questions, and insults,” they said.

The couple mentioned that their split was made public without their permission, which led to the circulation of several false stories about their relationship and the reason behind their separation.

This compelled them to clarify the truth about the status of their relationship.

“Unfortunately, some even confirmed our break-up without our consent, and some created ridiculous stories that had no basis and were utterly false, so we felt the need to share this announcement with great sadness, for our peace of mind and our families,” they stated.

The former couple requested kindness and privacy from netizens amidst difficult times.

“Please understand that this is an extremely painful yet united decision, and we sincerely request everyone to kindly spare us from more cruel and very hurtful words thrown on social media,” they wrote.

Earlier this week, the King of Talk Boy Abunda announced Bea and Dominic's break-up during one of his show's episodes.

The veteran showbiz host debunked several rumors circulating on social media regarding the reason for the couple's falling out, which included a prenuptial agreement.

“You have the right to comment, you have the right to share your opinion pero sana’y let's exercise prudence, caution, and most important of all, kindness,” Boy told netizens.

Bea and Dominic became engaged in July 2023 after dating for two years. They had previously announced their plans to get married this year.
