BLACKPINK’s Lisa to make acting debut in HBO series ‘White Lotus’

BLACKPINK member Lisa is set to star in the third season of the HBO series The White Lotus.

Streaming platform Max made the announcement on Tuesday, February 13.

"The trip of a lifetime awaits. Lalisa Manobal, Scott Glenn, and Julian Kostov will join the cast for Season 3 of HBO Original series #TheWhiteLotus on Max," the streaming platform posted on social media.

The White Lotus will be Lisa's acting debut.

Fans online were quick to express their excitement about Lisa being part of the series.

"ACTRESS LISA IS COMING," one fan commented.

"LISA ON A HBO SHOW?!? SIGN ME UP!!" another fan wrote.

According to a report by Variety, production of the series will take place in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, Thailand this February. The new season will feature the story of a fresh ensemble of visitors at the White Lotus resort.

The news about Lisa's first acting project came following the launching of her own management company called LLOUD.

"Introducing LLOUD, a platform to showcase my vision in music and entertainment. Join me on this exciting journey to push through new boundaries together," Lisa posted on social media.

In December 2023, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK members did not renew their contracts for solo activities under the agency.

"We have agreed not to extend our contracts regarding individual activities (with BLACKPINK members)," YG stated as reported by The Korea Times.

"We will continue to give BLACKPINK our full support and sincerely cheer for their individual activities," the agency added.

Meanwhile, all the BLACKPINK members have renewed their contracts for group activities with the agency.

"I am happy to maintain our relationship with BLACKPINK. We will do our utmost to help BLACKPINK shine even brighter in the global music market," Yang Hyun-suk, founder and former head of the agency, remarked.

Composed of Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé, BLACKPINK made their debut under YG Entertainment in August 2016. They became the first South Korean female group to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their second album, Born Pink.
