Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo gave a tour of their rest house in Tanay, Rizal for the latest YouTube vlog of Karen Davila.

In the said house tour, the couple showed their living room, kitchen, and bedrooms, among others.

The rest house is made out of container vans. The couple admitted that they initially  thought installing the container vans would be easy but they realized soon that it was also taxing as they needed to dismantle it to smaller pieces and then assemble it.

"Medyo mas matrabaho kasi kung ipapasok dito kailangan hati-hatiin siya para makapasok ng husto kasi maliit ang daan," Jennylyn said.

Dennis added: "Tapos siyempre 'yung installation pa ng bawat container."

It was during the pandemic when they were able to buy the lot for the rest house from Dennis's grandfather.

"Una di kami interesado [kasi] sa Tanay 'to malayo. Since pandemic nun and ayaw namin magtampo lolo ko, sige silipin natin. Pagpasok namin dun pa lang sa gate, wow 'yung view," Dennis recalled.

The construction of the house started towards the end of 2020. Their rest house was made out of six container vans.

Jennylyn shared that they are big fans of maximizing small spaces, saying: "Mahilig kami manood ng Tiny House (a TV Program) tapos nakikita namin doon na kahit maliliit lang ang gaganda ng loob, 'yung nama-maximize nila 'yung space, 'yung interior nila ang gaganda so dun kami na-inspire."

On what they love about their rest house, Dennis shared: "Ako po para kang nasa bakasyon palagi kasi sobrang relax 'yung hangin. Mas masarap huminga dahil napapalibutan ka rin ng halaman tsaka 'pag nandito, wala kang gagawin, magi-enjoy ka lang."

The couple decided to use solar energy to provide power for their rest house. "Kasi matindi rin 'yung sikat ng araw so sayang naman if mawe-waste 'yung lahat ng energy na yun so bakit hindi natin pagawan ng solar," Dennis shared.

Jennylyn and Dennis have been married for two years already. When asked to describe their marriage, Dennis said: "Parang wala naman pong pinagkaiba magmula nung naging kami tapos nung nagpakasal kami dahil 'yun siguro mature na kaming pareho nung nag-decide na kaming magpakasal."
