Filipino singer-songwriter Darlene made sure to capture everyone’s hearts as she debuted as a solo artist under SBTown. The former The Voice Kids finalist made a return to the music scene after months of her hiatus due to her undisclosed sickness, which led her to leave the P-Pop girl group YGIG.Darlene’s debut single &quot;Daydream&quot; features a different side of her that fans haven&#x27;t seen in the past.<div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2022/11/25/former-the-voice-kids-finalist-darlene-vibares-is-now-a-member-of-ygig" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">READ: Former &#x27;The Voice Kids&#x27; finalist Darlene Vibares is now a member of YGIG</a></div>In an interview with the media last February 16, the SBTown artist happily shared that she is slowly gaining her power back after being sidelined for treatment the past few months. She added that she prepared a lot during her break as she wanted to make sure her fans would see the best version of herself –– now as a solo artist.“For the preparation, marami po akong hinanda and firstly, triny ko ulit again yung stamina ko by doing cardio workout since it helps a lot with the stamina. For the vocals as well, di ako masyado kumain ng sweets and cold [drinks],” she shared.The 19-year-old singer added that the lyrics of her debut song were completely written by her. She shared that after hearing the demo of the single, she knew it would be about love, which made her love the vibe of the song.“For the procedure for daydream, yung napakinggan ko na po yung song, ang pumasok agad sa mind ko is that it’s gonna be about love. She revealed that they were actually very supportive of her solo debut and wished her well in her career. The former YGIG member added that fans will now get to see a lighter side of her. During her time with her former group, the singer was known to be fierce and powerful. This time around she wants to showcase her natural side, which fans will love as well. “During YGIG, that [side of] Darlene is very fierce and very powerful. Nakilala ppo kasi ako as a very strong person sa group. Ang pinagkaiba po ngayon now that I’m a soloist, I want to show more [of] my light aura and mas bright and mas natural na ilalabas yung sarili ko,” she explained.Daydream was recorded in South Korea and has a notable hip-hop vibe with kitsch trap beats and hyperpop guitar chopping that showcases her versatile vocals, melodic prowess, and fresh, lively delivery.
