SB19 member Justin De Dios shared that he wants to expand his experience in the entertainment industry by trying to do acting roles and be part of offcam productions.

During the private music video launch of his first single "surreal" on Tuesday, February 27 at Novotel in Quezon City, the P-pop boy group's youngest member expressed a desire to take on different roles in the entertainment industry aside from music.

“Ngayon po mag-start ako as a musician, but hopefully, in the future, po ma-experience ko rin yung iba’t ibang part ng entertainment industry, like acting. Gusto ko rin po sana makapagdirect ng music video ng ibang artist or makagawa po ng film or movies,” he said.

The 25-year-old artist also shared that he wants to try out things in the film industry that he was able to convey through his now released single "surreal."

“Hopefully po ang gusto ko po sana mangyari is ma-venture ko rin nga po yung iba’t ibang part ng entertainment industry. So, other than music, siyempre ngayon promote tayo ng songs pero afterwards sana po ma-experience ko more yung acting and directing. So, sana po makapasok po sa film industry,” he remarked.

“Kasi noong na-experience ko rin siya doon sa Senior High po, sabi ko ’ah it’s a new world’. Very ibang iba po siya sa environment sa music na part. So, parang gusto ko pa itry, gusto ko pa tingnan yung bigger picture kasi very cameo lang po ako that time eh. So, gusto ko pa po ma-experience ang more,” he added.

Speaking of his trending cameo role in the hit Kapamilya series, Senior High, Justin expressed gratitude to the Kapamilya network for giving him a chance to appear on the show.

“Yung reaction ko po doon ‘hala grabe naman si ABS’. Kasi po cameo lang siya so hindi ko inexpect na talagang kakalat siya all over social media. Thank you po ABS for giving that chance and opportunity. Super na-overwhelm ako and thankful na sana po magkaroon pa po ako ng projects,” he expressed.

He also shared during his private music video launching what genre of acting projects he is open to do.

“Kung bibigyan po ako ng chance na papiliin kung anong gustong genre, gusto ko po yung parang coming of age na type although over age na ako. Pabaataan na lang ng kaunti,” he jokingly said.

He added, “Coming of age na maraming learnings na medyo may drama ng kaunti.”

“Basta ang importante po ang gusto ko ay mamamatay ako sa ending. Yun yung goal. I don’t know kaya ayaw ko po maging bida kasi gusto ko po mamatay sa ending,” he revealed, making everyone at the event laugh at his request.

Justin also humbly said that he is open to working with any artists and personalities in the industry as long as he feels like he deserves to work with them as someone who is just starting to take a new path in the industry.

“Kahit sino po, open ako. Basta, siguro po what I can say about it, is dapat po siguro na it’s something na deserve ko not just because na gustong gusto ko lang siya or triny kong kunin but then at least deserve ko yung magiging role ko. Kung may magiging kapartner man ako or kawork, it is something din na deserve ko siyang makatrabaho,” he said.

SB19's youngest member has just released his first solo track on Thursday, February 29 via Sony Entertainment.

His music is filled with his soothing voice as well as a dreamy and fantasy vibe from its beautiful visuals produced by Radkidz’s PABLO and Josue featuring Gelou of YARA.

Being in the limelight for more than five years now, the singer-songwriter said he prefers to be part of the offcam production roles as it makes him feel less pressured.

“Ako po honestly, kapag off cam mas gusto ko siya kasi less pressured. Parang po, for me, less pressured kasi you’re working inside. So, parang, hangga't hindi ka pa satisfied sa ginagawa mo, parang hindi pa siya makikita outside, hindi mo pa siya ipepresent. Unlike kapag oncam ka, whatever you do on that time, yun na yun. Kaya medyo pressure for me,” he stated.

He went on: “Siguro kasi because of my background na multimedia arts, parang gusto ko sa back[stage] side magwowork.”
