Anji Salvacion shares the story behind her new EP

<p>Former <em>Pinoy Big Brother</em> housemate Anji Salvacion shared how her new extended play (EP), Grit, reflects how one can be a masterpiece of loving his or her very own.</p><p>In an intimate media conference for Star Magic Spotlight on Wednesday, March 13 at Limbaga 77 Café Restaurant in Quezon City, the singer expressed how her new album wants to relay the message of not letting anyone be standardized by anybody.</p><p>“It&#x27;s all about, you know, having the statement of being strong and empowered, and it&#x27;s the song really for this year. It’s a song really for children too, and you know who has a lack of self-esteem and who wants to boost their confidence. Hindi tayo papayag na nililimitahan yung kakayahan natin. Hindi lang para sa mga babae, sa mga bata kung hindi para sa lahat,” she added.</p><p>“You cannot just allow these people to tell you na no hanggang dito ka lang kasi everybody is capable of doing something great in their lives, and you know inspiring others even more. So, everybody is capable. This song is for you, this EP is for you all,” she expressed.</p><p>The young artist also shared how she the album came about.</p><p>&quot;‘Yung songs actually narecord na namin ito last year. It’s been a while before siya narelease, so I’m excited,” she told the media.</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2024/2/18/anji-salvacion-drops-her-ep-grit-1532" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong><u>READ: Anji Salvacion drops her EP ‘Grit’</u></strong></a></div><p>“Actually, tinanong ako ni Sir Rox (Rox Santos) kung ano yung gusto kong gawing title sa EP, so I asked him to give me the whole songs from the EP, and then I asked him to give me a moment, so I wanted to absorb each song,” Anji recalled.</p><p>She went on: “I realized that each of those songs is a chapter and that EP is a book. It talks about falling in love, getting betrayed, and accepting yourself, you accept your flaws and then you become a masterpiece. A masterpiece of loving oneself. At the end of the day, dapat din na you don&#x27;t have to be too hard on yourself. The title itself is already a statement,” she said.</p><p>“You know, you did it. I’m here, I’m still standing in front of you, fighting and will always be fighting. I&#x27;m always going to be here standing tall, whatever you say, I’m always gonna reach my dreams,” the singer proudly stated.</p><p>Anji also stated that she wants to focus more on her music career as it is really her dream.</p><p>“As of now, I&#x27;m focusing on my music because its the very first dream that I really had simula noong 2019. This is it. I&#x27;m already starting na with Grit and gusto ko ipagpatuloy siya kasi ito yung pinaka-passion ko, and I&#x27;m really excited to release more songs,” she said.</p><p>Looking back on her experience last year, the former PBB housemate also realized how she continues to grow and love herself even more.</p><p>“Last year was not my best year of every year na I&#x27;ve been in this life. Siguro ayun din yung parang calling sa akin ni God na to be an instrument din to others kasi if nakayanan ko, I’m sure makakayanan din nila. As I said earlier, we don&#x27;t allow people to tell us na hanggang dito lang tayo. So, we go further because we can,” she remarked.</p><p>“Self-acceptance is really an important factor in our lives kasi when you accept yourself more, you appreciate it, you love your flaws, these noises won&#x27;t affect you more kasi you won&#x27;t allow unnecessary problems, unnecessary stress into your lives. Good vibes lang tayo this 2024!” she said.</p>
