Paulo Avelino shared that he recently got injured while working out and he's now recovering. 

"I dislocated my right shoulder because of weightlifting," he revealed in an interview with ABS-CBN News at an event for a beauty clinic.

He quipped: "I did not wear a sling, masisira kasi pagka-action star ko."

The actor relayed that he always makes it a point that his looks physically align with the character he is portraying.

"My aura or look comes with the role I am doing. I try to stay true to the characters I am doing. If you noticed in Linlang, I did not put makeup at all. Medyo madungis talaga itsura ko. Here in Secretary Kim, I am dapper," he said.

Paulo is set to star in the Philippine adaptation of What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? alongside Kim Chiu. He will play the role of Vice-Chairman in the series.

What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim? follows the story of a handsome and narcissistic vice-chairman of a major company. He thinks his life is perfect until his really skilled secretary, who has worked with him for a long time, decides to quit her job. He tries his best to make her stay, and as they go through some misadaventures, they both begin to fall in love with each other.

In a previous interview, Paulo admitted that he felt pressured playing the role considering that the well-loved Korean actor Park Seo-joon played the part in the Korean version.

"Grabe 'yung pressure sa akin kasi everyone loves the actor who played in Secretary Kim so I'm trying my best to look the part and play the part properly," he stated.

Paulo remarked that he believed that the reason he got the role was because of the success of Linlang wherein he also worked with Kim.

He said: "I think a big reason why they considered me for this project was because of the success of Linlang and to everyone who watched Linlang and supported Linlang, thank you. It's because of you guys it's the reason why I was even considered to be cast here."
