It was overwhelmingly emotional for me as well.&quot;</p><p>These were the words of Filipino-Australian actress Abigail Adriano as she stepped foot again in the Philippines to play the role of Kim in the Manila run of <em>Miss Saigon.</em></p><p>&quot;I haven’t been here since 14 years ago and my memory of the Philippines has always been family, the beaches I grew up with my family in Zambales. So this is just life-changing for me. I was actually in university, I was focusing my life on academics. You know I was only 18 at that time. I was taking a law degree. She really said to me that you know make this character my own and carve some things that I can call my own. And I think that’s the beauty of Kim: that no matter who steps into the role, no matter how you sing it, it&#x27;s about the story that you tell.”</p>
