Filipina Drag Queen Marina Summers has officially entered the top 4 of the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs the World. In the latest episode of the highly-competitive program, the Drag Queen secured her slot after Australian contestant Hannah Conda chose to eliminate Scarlet Envy.

Marina makes history as she is the first Filipina from the Philippine Drag Race franchise to join the international competition and make it to the finale.

The seventh episode of the program entitled Haters Wedding Roast showed the five remaining queens being tasked to do a comedy roast. Their stand-up skills were tested as it will be a deciding factor on who will be in the grand finale. 

Marina made sure to give it her all, which the judges of the competition gave credit to. However,  it wasn’t enough to earn her place in the Top 2 of the episode. Tia Kofi and Hannah Conda were the ones who emerged victorious in the battle and were named the top queens of the episode. 

“There was confidence there. You know, there were times when you faltered but, you know, if you were to get a second chance, I could tell that you would nail it,” RuPaul said. 

Meanwhile, Marina served stunning looks in the runway category of the episode as she wore a traditional wedding ceremony attire of the Yakan people, an indigenous Filipino ethnolingustic group from Mindanao. In her social media accounts, the Filipina Drag Queen expressed how proud she is to represent not only Luzon and Visayas but also Mindanao in the international stage.

“I feel honored and blessed to have been able to share this traditional wedding ceremony attire from the Yakan Tribe (one of the Philippines’ many tribes) on the world’s stage of [RuPauls Drag Race: UK vs the World]. From Luzon, to Visayas and now Mindanao. I meant it when I said I wanted to represent the entire country,” she wrote.

The finale of the international franchise is set to air next week. Fans of the Drag Race series have been showing their support towards Marina who is poised to win the crown.
