Online personality Janina Vela talked about harnessing influence to do good.

In an interview with PUSH during Cosmopolitan Philippines’ Women of Influence event, Janina said, “Honestly, I believe every woman has influence. I think what’s important – the question we all have to ask is how are we going to use that influence that we inherently have, right? Are we going to use it for good or for bad? So I feel like making those decisions everyday makes you a woman of good influence, right?

“It has to be that level of intentionality. It has to be that questioning talaga – is this going to benefit myself and the people around me, right? And I think the question I always ask myself because, I know with this platform that I’m given, and I’m so blessed and lucky to have it, I always ask myself, am I adding value to people?” she relayed.

She continued, “Even small or big; if I’m making people laugh, if I’m teaching them something new; am I making them feel hopeful and inspired. So I think that’s the goal. I think it’s important for everyone to know that we all inherently have our own circles of influence. We just have to build them properly.”

Meanwhile, Janina expressed her excitement over her plans for this Holy Week. “I’m graduating college next month but I have ‘seniorities’ so I want to take a break so bad. So we’re going to go with my family. We just got an Airbnb, and we’re gonna spend time with my family and my church friends.”

Likewise, Janina talked about spending time with family this Lenten season.

“With my family, what we do is we celebrate Easter Sunday. We go to church naman talaga as a family… That’s something we do ‘cause we’re Born Again Christians. So spending time with family, I feel like, is something that we definitely prioritize during Holy Week,” she shared.

Further, she said, “Being able to spend time with the Lord, it’s like an extended Sabbath really, to recalibrate and make sure that our priorities are right and straight, have the Lord on top of that.”

When asked for an unforgettable life miracle she experienced, Janina answered, “I can’t really name one big miracle but I’m such a firm believer talaga that your life is made up of little miracles. There are so many reasons why I’m here today. It’s not just the one big thing, right? It’s all of the, again, little decisions, the different people who supported me over the years. My family, and the words that they sowed into me and my life.

“So I think I am, my life is a product of a lot of little miracles. And I think that, I don’t know, it makes life more special because you’re out looking to see where you can be grateful instead of like, okay, it’s just a one thing, right? You’re thinking, okay, what can I be grateful for today? Like what am I thankful for today? What is my little miracle today? And that’s the way I wanna live life,” she concluded.
