Pokwang’s former partner Lee O’ Brian was confirmed to have been deported last April 8 as announced by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) on their official Facebook account. This comes after the win of the comedian-actress against her former partner in his deportation case in December of last year.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco reported that the American national boarded a Philippine Airlines flight to San Francisco after the Bureau confirmed that he no longer has any pending case in the country.

Apart from his deportation, Lee is already included on the BI’s blacklist which makes him ineligible from re-entering the country in the future.

Meanwhile, Pokwang shared her official statement through the April 11 episode of Boy Abunda’s talk show. She shared that the deportation of her former partner is the best move for the both of them.

“Para sa ikabubuti naming dalawa, and para makapag hanapbuhay na rin siya nang maayos. Ako rin ganon. Para makapag provide kami ng maayos para sa anak namin,” she shared.

She maintained, however, that she is still open to letting Lee see their daughter despite their situation.

“When it comes to karapatan niya kay Malia, hindi ko naman yon ipagdadamot basta ayusin lang niya buhay niya. Kahit anong mangyari, tatay pa rin siya ni Malia. Hindi ko aalisin yon. Kung gustong pumunta ni Malia doon, then go fine. Kung gusto niyang dalawin siya ni Malia sa America. Okay fine. Ihahatid ko pa. Basta ibabalik lang nila sa akin,” she added.

Pokwang stressed that she hoped her ex-partner would find work in the US as she wants him to succeed in life as well, not just for their daughter but for his own sake.

“Sayang kasi may pinag-aralan naman siyang tao. Gamitin niya yung natapos niya. Gamitin niya doon. Magtrabaho siya, mag-ipon siya, hindi lang para kay Malia kundi para na rin sa kanya. Kasi 49 na siya. Ayusin niya na buhay niya,” she ended.

It was back in December when the BI released an eight-page resolution on the deportation case of Lee which was filed by Pokwang. According to the BI ruling, the American citizen violated the terms and conditions of his stay in the Philippines due to his “active involvement in the film, television programs, and theatrical industry.”
