Controversy recently arose when Mo Twister reportedly made an offhanded comment about Kaye Abad being the “ugly version” of Iza Calzado.

It started on April 12, when Kaye was a guest on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. Kaye opened up about her insecurities, and when asked if she were to look like else , she answered, “Iza Calzado. Sinabi na ni Mo Twister yan ‘eh. Ako daw ang ugly version ni Iza Calzado.”

Mo then went on air for his show on Magic 89.9 and clarified the entire situation.

On April 16, Kaye made a guest appearance on Mo Twister’s radio show. There, they both clarified what was actually said and what actually happened.

Mo opened up the topic by sharing that over the weekend after Kaye’s guesting on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, he got “all these messages about me apparently bullying you, and I thought, I don’t even remember saying this.”

Diving further into the topic, Mo shared, “I think what happened was, we were doing the ugly version of which celebrity. I’m the ugly version of Matt Damon, tapos nag-text ka sa’kin.”

Kaye said that she had asked Mo, “Nag text ako sa’yo, sabi ko, ‘ako, Mo, sinong ugly version ako?’” When Kaye was asked if the comment hurt her, she answered, “No, not at all.”

She said that she was flattered because she finds Iza Calzado very pretty, and added, “So nung sinabi mo na ugly version [ako] ni Iza Calzado, sabi ko, ‘oh wow, sige sige, I’ll accept that.’ Yung mga tao galit na galit sa’yo.”

Kaye shared that Iza Calzado actually messaged her. Kaye said, “She told me that she heard about my Tito Boy Abunda interview and what Mo said. [Sabi niya], ‘First of all, thank you for the kind words, but then ‘wag ko daw tanggapin na sinabi mo na ugly version niya ako.’”

Mo added that he and Iza are close friends, too. “I would think she understood that coming from me and maybe knowing that Kaye and I are friends that ‘Mo is just effing around.’” Mo shared that he was glad Kaye appeared on his show, to show that there was no ill intention behind his comment, and there’s no bad blood between the two.
