In a vlog with Luis Manzano, Paulo admitted that it took him a while to adjust from his heavy role as Victor Lualhati of Linlang to CEO Brandon of the Philippine adaptation of the Korean series.

“It wasn’t easy. It took some time for me to adjust. I haven't done a rom-com in a while or something funny, so it took a lot of time which I wished I had more (to put) a lot of effort. I’m thankful to people behind Secretary Kim ‘cause they were very supportive, to our director na sobrang supportive sa pag-guide sa akin doing romcom again and also Kim (Chiu),” he said.
“It wasn’t easy. It took some time for me to adjust. I haven't done a rom-com in a while or something funny, so it took a lot of time which I wished I had more (to put) a lot of effort. Speaking of how he and Kim worked together in two consecutive projects, Paulo shared that they were surprised on how they were able to develop their chemistry given their complicated characters on Linlang.

Paulo admitted that he actually avoided being on a love team as he wanted to explore more options in the industry, both as an actor and as someone working behind the scenes.
