In a recent post from MLD Entertainment, Lapillus’ Filipino-Argentinan member, Chanty, also known as Chantal Videla, has been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. According to the statement, “there is concern that engaging in high-intensity group musical activities may cause relapse of her symptoms and strain in her health.”

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, a debilitating condition characterized by persistent fatigue, poses significant challenges to Chanty's ability to engage in high-intensity group musical activities, prompting concerns about her well-being.

It is in line with this that MLD Entertainment has announced that “while Chanty will remain a member of Lapillus and continue her individual activities, her participation in group activities as a singer will be indefinitely postponed.”

MLD Entertainment added that they “will do [their] best to support the health and recovery of [their] artist, so [they] ask for the utmost understanding of the fans.”

A day after the announcement of her hiatus, Lapillus’ Chanty made an appearance at the It’s Showtime variety show which premiered on GMA Network on April 6. It’s Showtime replaced Tahanang Pinakamasaya on GMA 7’s noontime slot.

During the noontime show, Chanty said, “Ako po, I’m really, really happy kasi hindi ko naman po first time na mag-guest po sa ‘Showtime’ as I was also a Kapamilya. And this is actually my first appearance po sa GMA alone.”

Lapillus’ Chanty was formerly a Star Magic talent under ABS-CBN before she started training with MLD Entertainment in South Korea.

The six-member Lapillus debuted on June 20, 2022 with the title track, ‘Hit Ya!’ They had their comeback a year later with the track ‘Who’s Next.’ In 2023, Lapillus also won two awards, in the Asia Artist Awards, which was held in the Philippine Arena, Lapillus won the Focus Award in music. In the same year, at the Seoul Music Awards, Lapillus won the New Wave Star Award.
