Kapamilya singer-actor Darren Espanto once again broke his silence with his rumored romantic relationship with Kapuso actress, Cassy Legaspi. In an interview with ABS-CBN News last April 7, the Can’t Buy Me Love actor expressed how fans have been pushing the narrative of them being romantically involved.

Darren and Cassy have been making rounds on social media for their closeness with one another.

“Makulit sila! Sabi ko best friends lang kami eh,” he expressed.

The Kapamilya star maintained that he is only good friends with the Kapuso actress and emphasized how they love one another in a non-romantic way. Darren added that he doesn’t see their relationship evolving into something more in the near future.

“Best friends talaga. It's something a lot of people won't get. Hindi ko alam paano explain pero syempre andun yung pagmamahal namin sa isa't isa,” he added.

Previously, he already denied their relationship rumors in the morning talk show, Magandang Buhay. The singer-actor stressed that they are enjoying each other’s time and aren’t rushing anything.

“Siyempre si Cassy ang isa sa mga taong parang tinatakbuhan ko kapag medyo down po ako. When I need someone to talk to, she's always there, she's a great listener, she's a great person to ask advice for. At saka ang bilis niya pong makapag-lighten ng mood pagdating sa akin. So I'm really just grateful to have a friend like her,” he previously shared.

Meanwhile, Darren expressed his surprise after netizens partnered his name alongside another Kapuso actress, Jillian Ward, after the debut of It’s Showtime in GMA. Netizens were quick to spot the interaction of the two and made some ship names right after.

“Nagulat din ako trending din pangalan namin ni Jillian. May mga ships na. She’s very chill. Nag-uusap na kami, nag-iisip ng collaboration in the future saka kung papayagan kung pwedeng tumawid,” he shared.
