Ara Mina on being extra busy this year: “Ayoko ng walang ginagawa!”

After initially announcing that she would be staging her major anniversary concert set for earlier this month, actress and singer Ara Mina revealed why she eventually decided to postpone the event this year because of a conflict in her growing work schedule which she also considers a blessing.

“Supposed to be birthday concert pero nakakagulo na kami sa schedule. Sabi ko, na-pressed for time na ako so we decided to move the concert to July. Kasi ano, siyempre, thank you, Lord. Ang daming work. Ang daming work. So I have two TV shows. I have two talk shows, and meron pa akong movie, 'Alyas Pogi,’ and then, meron pang under negotiation. So, ganun,” she shared during her presscon held at KAO at Newport World Resorts in Pasay City.

The upcoming movie project Ara is referring to stars Senator Bong Revilla Jr. along with Epy Quizon.

Apart from her numerous projects lined up for TV and movies, Ara said she is also excited for her new role as a podcast host which started last month.

“It’s a podcast titled Private Time with Ara. Iba siya sa Magandang Araw which is a lifestyle show.This one is a one-on-one interview podcast thing. Late night show siya, 9 p.m. ng gabi every Wednesday. Showbiz na hindi showbiz, parang ganun ang theme. Yung puwedeng deep topic and it’s a new avenue for me and natutuwa ako kasi seryoso na yung mga alok sa akin na hosting. I’m very thankful kasi when they offered it to me, hindi naman ako nagdalawang isip,” she said.

With so many things on her plate already for the first half of the year, the All of Me concert performer said she really enjoys being busy in showbiz.

“Sabihin na nating masipag ako. I think parang yun yung vitamins ko, parang ayoko ng walang ginagawa. Parang the more na wala akong ginagawa, pag hindi ako productive I feel so useless. Kaya naman i-manage yung time eh. Nagagawan naman ng paraan. Tapos siguro sa tagal na rin sa showbiz, sanay na tayo. Pag na-cancel ang shoot, ngayon ang nangyayari, meron akong free time . Eh yung anak ko rin naman kasi nag-su-school na. Eh kung housewife lang ako eh di nakatunganga lang ako sa bahay na ganun, morning hanggang hapon aantayin ko yung anak ko lumabas sa school. Eh di maging productive tayo di ba?” she added.

Ara also revealed that tickets for her original concert date this May were already almost sold out. But she assured her fans that they still have the opportunity to get good seats since it has been rescheduled to July while those who have already bought tickets can be assured that they will still be honored at the later date.

"Hindi na rin makasingit ng mga promotion ng promo for the concert. Buti nga, ito, na-plot na namin ito, itong presscon, kaya itinuloy. But good thing na rin iyon, 'yung mga nakaano naman, nakabili na, magagamit naman nila 'yung ticket," she said.
