David Henrie reveals title of ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ sequel

David Henrie shared snapshots from the set of the upcoming sequel of Wizards of Wizardly Place.

On his Instagram page, David shared his photos with co-star Selena Gomez and the other cast members of the show.

The actor unveiled the official title of the sequel as well. "Alright it’s official, we have a title! Drumroll…pic 3! Don’t forget your wands!" he posted.

The sequel is titled Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

Fans online were quick to react to his post.

"13-year-old me is screaming of excitement rn 🙌🥹," one fan commented.

"I’m gonna cry my dreams have come true," another fan wrote.

According to a previous report of Variety, Selena and David will be the executive producers of the show. While Selena will be doing a guest role in the premiere episode to reprise her role as Alex Russo, David will be back full time on the series as Justin Russo.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place will premiere on Disney Channel and Disney+ this year.

Joining the cast are Max Matenko who will play as Milo, Justin’s youngest son; Janice LeAnn Brown who will portray the role of a wizard named Billie; Alkaio Thiele who will be playing the role of Roman, Justin’s oldest son; and Mimi Gianopulos who will play the role of Giada, Justin’s wife.

The series will follow the story of Justin Russo who "has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities – and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World," as per the show's logline.

It was in January this year when David announced that the series will have a sequel.

"The Russo’s are excited to become a part of your family, once again, but we’ve grown 😊 2024, the year magic comes back! 🪄" he posted on his Instagram page back in January.

Wizards of Waverly Place premiered on Disney Channel in 2007 and became a massive hit. It concluded after four seasons in 2012.
