On the evening of May 6 in New York City, the Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted the biggest event in fashion, the 2024 Met Gala. Celebrities and influencers walked the red carpet, showcasing outfits inspired by the theme “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

This theme focused on how technology can revive old garments that are too delicate to wear. Curator Andrew Bolton said it celebrates the beauty of nature and the emotional poetics of fashion.

The Gala, an annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute, attracted an array of A-list co-chairs, including musician Bad Bunny, actor Chris Hemsworth, actress Zendaya, and actress-singer Jennifer Lopez. Each wore ensembles that epitomized the event’s theme, paying homage to “The Garden of Time.”

The co-chairs of the 2024 Met Gala made an entrance, each clad in designs that perfectly embodied the event's theme. Musician Bad Bunny was dressed in Maison Margiela, while actor Chris Hemsworth opted for a sleek ensemble by Tom Ford. Actress Zendaya stunned in a vintage Givenchy creation, and at the top of the stairs of the MET revealed a custom piece by Maison Margiela's John Galliano. Jennifer Lopez exuded glamor in a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown, which gave her a timeless allure.
