Former actress Andi Eigenmann expressed her regrets for not being able to share special moments with her parents, late actors Jaclyn Jose and Mark Gil, as well as her aunt, actress Cherie Gil.

In an interview with veteran host Boy Abunda, Andi shared how she felt after her mom passed away earlier this year.

“That was a bit heavy for me because I don’t live every day of my life thinking my mom could die tomorrow, which I don’t know if that was a mistake. Mali ba iyon? Hindi ko alam na ganoong pag-iisip ko. Hindi ko pinagdadasal o pinapangarap na mapuputol agad yung buhay ni Nanay tapos ang dami kong inaasahan na mga pangyayari sa taon na ito that involves her,” Andi shared.

The Siargao-based actress also revealed that getting married to her partner, surfing champion Philmar Alipayo, is one dream that she wished her late mother was part of. It was a milestone that was more for her mom than herself.

“Ang pagpapakasal namin ni Philmar is also mostly more for her, kasi kami ni Philmar kahit hindi kami magpakasal, asawa ko na yan, asawa na namin ang isa’t isa,” she explained. “Para sa akin ayun yung mahalaga pero alam ko magiging masaya si Nanay kapag nagpakasal (kami).”

Andi added, “To me, she’s my most important guest at that wedding, supposedly.”

She clarified that they are still planning to get married, but are just waiting for the right and proper time.

“We are still gonna get married. It is still in the plan, and it is something that we want din naman. I (just) wanted to do it for her (too), but that’s not the only reason,” she said.

Recalling how her wedding would be a big milestone she would love to share with the most important people in her life, Andi emotionally admitted that it pained her to think that she couldn’t be with her mom, her dad Mark, and her Tita Cherie.

“It’s just a bit sad because it’s just a big milestone in anybody’s life is to get married din. My Dad is not around (anymore), and my Mom, and Tita Cherie (too). So, ang hirap para sa akin na isipin iyon kasi ito yung mga importanteng tao sa buhay ko at unti-unti na sila nawawala. Akala ko nandyan pa sila. Akala ko may oras,” she stated.

Despite losing them, Andi also shared what the life lesson she has learned from her experience.

“The biggest lesson for me is to learn how to make the people you love feel it the way they want to. It’s not just about the best way you know how. Also, to make extra effort to make them feel it the way they want to feel love,” she expressed.

Last April, Andi and Philmar announced their decision to postpone their wedding following Jaclyn’s passing last March.

“Honestly, we wanted to get married this year. But under the circumstances, we decided to wait a bit. It was supposed to be for mom,” Andi said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Andi also got candid about the fact that she is still coping after her mom passed away.

“Slowly, I hope I will get there. But I know she is proud, she loves me and her grandchildren, so I will focus on the good things and my family,” she remarked.

Besides their wedding, Andi also shared that she would have wanted to bring her mother to Siargao to show her the life they had there and to be able to let her see the reason why she loves her new life in the beautiful island.

“It also big deal for me for her to come to Siargao kasi ang dami kong natutunan sa pagpunta ko sa Siargao at marami akong pinapangarap na kapag siya siguro nakarating din doon, siguro siya rin.” she emotionally said.

“Gusto ko siya rin makita niya rin ito(ng mga nakikita ko). Gusto ko siya rin makita itong pagkakataon na to make certain changes in herself, in her life. Baka siya rin kapag nagpunta ng Siargao, mangyari din iyon… I knew she would (enjoy Siargao),” she continued.
