On his Instagram stories, actor Guji Lorenzana shared a video of his daughter, Cassidy Lorenzana, taking a bow during the curtain call of Miss Saigon.

The original post was from Cassidys mom, Cheska Nolasco.

The caption read: “It just dawned on me that this is her last weekend show. And then next week is her last show for Miss Saigon. Always proud of you, our little girl.”

Cassidy is currently in Taiwan for the Miss Saigon Asian Tour. She is one of the five young actors playing Tam, the son of the protagonists Kim and Chris.

A previous post on Guji’s Instagram Stories showed Cassidy signing autographs in Taiwan outside the National Theatre and Concert Hall in Taipei.

“My superstar in Taipei,” the proud dad captioned the post.

Another post showed their family enjoying Taiwan, as well as a video of Cassidy partying with Abigail Adriano, the actress who played the lead role Kim.

“Celebrating Cassidy’s Miss Saigon Asia run in Taiwan,” said Guji. “My little superstar.”

A thespian himself, Guji understands the demands of theatre life. Guji recently starred as Mr. Johnson and Benny in 9Works Theatrical’s Rent, which ran from April and concluded in early June. During an interview for Rent, Guji expressed his return to theater was driven by his love for it and his desire to encourage Cassidy, who is clearly following her dad’s footsteps.

In a February Instagram post, Guji detailed Cassidy's journey to landing the role of Tam in Miss Saigon. The post read: “When Cassidy auditioned for Miss Saigon, little did we know it would lead to an incredible journey. She found herself in Australia, diving into rehearsals for her professional stage debut in Adelaide. Balancing work and being away from her was tough, but I surprised her after 10 days. The bond between a father and daughter is something else. Cassidy, I love you, and your dad is bursting with pride.”

Guji admitted that balancing their rehearsal schedules was challenging. “Kasi sabay eh, yung mga rehearsals niya at rehearsals ko, shows niya at shows ko. It’s all the same timing. So we’re both working hard and supporting each other in this journey,” he said.

Guji revealed Cassidy's interest in performing began in her toddler years. “During the pandemic, when she was one and a half years old, she would stand on the couch, singing Disney songs. When we saw the auditions for Tam, we decided to try. She got accepted and we were very happy.”

It was easy to support Cassidy, as it was clear how much she was enjoying what she was doing.

“She calls Abigail Adriano, who plays Kim, 'Kim Mommy’,” he shared. “She looks at it like school and enjoys it.”

Guji hopes to share the stage with Cassidy in the future. “Hopefully, we can be part of one production. I always tell her to have fun. Ever since she joined Miss Saigon, being onstage is like playtime for her,” he said.
