Kim Atienza calls out death hoax: ‘Not today’

Television presenter Kim Atienza broke his silence after a TikTok video about his alleged death went viral on social media. On his social media accounts, the Kapuso artist called out the TikTok user for spreading the fake news.

The TikTok user has turned off the comment section on their post as of this writing.

“Aabot din tayo diyan, but not today,” Kim wrote in his caption.

Kim made sure to call out the rumors as he wrote the word “hoax” as big as possible in the screenshot he uploaded.

Friends of the newscaster took to the comment section to express their dismay over the TikTok video. Other netizens noted how some celebrities have been a target of the same account as well.

“Sobrang bad trip ako sa account na yan kuya. Naka off comment tapos iyong account niya sa TikTok, artists na pinatay niya,” singer and actress Rita Daniela shared.

“Mas magiging long life ka pa niyan Bro,” Jestoni Alarcon quipped.

“What the hell?? Ano yan?? Why would anyone do that,” TV host Ashley Rivera added.

This isn’t the first time that Kim fell victim to a death hoax. Back in 2020, rumors on social media circulated about his supposed involvement in a shooting incident and was in a critical condition.

“I am very much alive and still working… I tried to pass this off and be quiet but my friends and family are worried. I have to address this fake news item now,” he previously shared.

Meanwhile, Kim made headlines the previous week after he expressed his support for his daughter, Eliana, after she was reportedly suspended from the University of Pennsylvania campus for joining a protest encampment.

“Eliana has always been vocal about what she believes in. In this instance, she's part of the organization that is anti-genocide and anti-war. We've always been there for her, and I don't want to restrict her from doing anything as she is capable of making decisions," he shared.

"She has a heart of an activist eh, and there's nothing wrong with it because it's human rights she's fighting for,” he added.
