Vice Ganda shares experience working with Filipino comedians on ‘Last One Laughing Philippines’

A media conference and special screening was held for the series on Friday, June 28, where Vice shared how proud he is of this new project.</span></div><div style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:1.5"><span style="line-height:107%">“I was so, so surprised and kinilig ako. Sobra akong happy na ako ‘yung napiling host. Sobra akong na-proud and I was so honored to be given a chance to host this program na ang mga contestants, ilan sa mga pinakamahuhusay sa comedy sa Pilipinas. It features a lineup of popular Filipino comedians, namely Victor Anastacio, Tuesday Vargas, Empoy Marquez, Pepe Herrera, Jayson Gainza, Jerald Napoles, Kim Molina, Negi, Chad Kinis, and Rufa Mae Quinto.</span></div><div style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:1.5"><span style="line-height:107%">Describing the emotions he felt watching these comedians, Vice said, “Iba’t iba ‘yung emosyon na nabigay nila sa’kin to be fair. Ganu’n din ang paniniwala kong mararanasan niyo. Iba’t ibang emosyon. Hindi lang kayo matatawa pero meron sensitivity ninyo bilang manonood ang mata-touch ng kanilang mga ginagawa.” </span></div><div style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:1.5"><span style="line-height:107%">The seasoned comedian-host also elaborated on the uniqueness of each artist. Vice said, “Kasi iba-iba sila ng ginawa. Mayroon nagpatawa para makapagpatawa. Mayroon nagpatawa para magbigay ng mensahe. Mayroon nagpatawa para sa kanyang adbokasiya. Mayroon nagpatawa para ilabas ‘yung nararamdaman niya. ‘Dun ako nabigla, ang dami daming forms na binigay nila ng komedya, ang dami dami rin nilang ways para mailabas ang komedya na iyon. ‘Dun ako nabigla.”</span></div><div style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:1.5"><span style="line-height:107%">Vice then continued, relating a personal experience on how his perspective on comedy has evolved. “I thought parang patawa ka lang. Initially kasi, lalo na ‘nung nagsisimula ako, magpapatawa ka lang for a very shallow purpose. ‘Yung gusto mo lang magpatawa… Gano’n kasi ako eh. Nagsimula ako, nagpapatawa ako kasi nakikipagharutan lang ako. Hanggang sa nagpatawa na ako para kumita na ko. Hanggang sa nagpatawa na ako para sumikat na ko.</span></div><div style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:1.5"><span style="line-height:107%">“Ito, may malalim pa silang mga purpose kung bakit nila ginagawa ‘yung pagpapatawa. Kaya lahat sila na-amaze ako, lahat sila na-impress ako at lahat sila lalo kong hinangaan after this program,” he added.  </span></div>
