YG Entertainment announced that K-Pop girl group 2NE1 is set return on stage for an upcoming global tour in time for their 15th anniversary.

"The first successful YG girl group was 2NE1. The members of 2NE1 informed me that they'd like to hold a concert commemorating their 15th anniversary so we caught up and happily discussed in making it all happen within this year," YG's founder Yang Hyun-suk revealed in an announcement video posted on Sunday, July 21.

Composed of CL, Dara, Bom and Minzy, 2NE1 will kick off their concert tour in Seoul this year.

"It will start early October in Seoul and we already booked a performance venue in Osaka and Tokyo for the end of November and December. We're in the process of adjusting schedules for further performances," he said.

Hyun-suk relayed that the team from YG are now gearing up for the production of the show.

"I think this concert will be quite special. It resonates with those who grew up with 2NE1's music, sharing those memories. And in the case of 2NE1, they have an incredible number of hit songs so all the staff are working hard together to create a successful show," he said.

Following the announcement, the 2NE1 members penned a message on social media as they mark the announcement of their return.

"What’s up We’re 2NE1 ♠️♥️ WELCOME BACK, #BLACKJACKS #2NE1 #투애니원 #YG #WELCOME_BACK," Dara posted on Instagram.

2NE1 also bagged several awards including ten Mnet Asian Music Awards, nine Melon Music Awards, and eleven Cyworld Digital Music Awards.

The members got reunited on stage when they performed in CL's set for 88rising at Coachella in April 2022.

Minzy described the experience of performing with her fellow 2NE1 members as nostalgic.

"Standing on stage together with all of the other members for the first time in a long while, looking out at the faces in the huge crowd, I felt happy and nostalgic and excited,” she recalled in an interview with StarNews as reported by Soompi back in 2022.

Minzy shared that she first time they heard about Coachella was during CL's birthday.

"While preparing for this performance, we shared our lives and how we’ve been doing with one another, and we had serious conversations about our mindset going into the performance and our feelings about the fans who had been waiting for us. We made great memories while preparing for the performance," she stated.

In May this year, the group got together to celebrate their 15th anniversary and marked it with a photoshoot.

"2NE1 has always been my house that made me feel the freedom to love, to play, to express, to create, to shine, to mix, to connect and share with people. Hope today 2NE1 reminds you to feel your light," CL wrote on social media back in May.
