On Monday, July 22, Heart Evangelista attended the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) since her husband Chiz Escudero became senate president.
The actress and fashion icon joined her husband at the Batasang Pambansa Complex for the event.
In an interview with the media on the red carpet as reported by Rappler, Heart was asked how she felt about Chiz's first SONA as senate president. "I am very proud of him," Heart told the reporters.
On who she was looking forward to meeting at the event, Heart remarked: "Everybody. You know, this is one of the biggest events of the political arena so I am just very excited to just be here."

Heart was also asked about the concept of her look for the event. The actress donned a gown by Michael Leyva.
The style icon shared that she opted to go for a simple look for the SONA. "I wanted it to be simple. At the end of the day, it's really not about us. I wanted to dress appropriately," Heart said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Meanwhile, on her Instagram page, Heart also penned a message for her husband following the SONA 2024.
"In everything you do … I shall be there right beside you🫶🏼 proud of you our Senate President @escuderochiz," she posted.
She also posted a clip documenting their SONA experience together.

Fans of the couple were quick to react to Heart's posts.

Chiz was appointed senate president in May this year.

Following her husband's appointment, Heart became the president of the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc.
"The legacies left by all the ladies before me, a treasure of stories and testaments of service to the nation is something that encourages me to continue what they have started - to make a difference and to inspire not only SSFl members but also individuals and groups who have the power to do something in improving the lives of people around us," she posted on social media following her appointment.
