Celine Dion returned to the stage as she performed at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics held in Paris, France.

Celine sang Edith Piaf’s "Hymne A L’Amour" on the Eiffel Tower, which marked her return to performing following her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis.

After her performance, Celine took to social media to pen a message for the global sporting event.

"I’m honored to have performed tonight, for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony, and so full of joy to be back in one of my very favorite cities!" she wrote.

Celine also commended the athletes who are part of the Olympic games.

"Most of all, I’m so happy to be celebrating these amazing athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain, and perseverance," she remarked.

She went on: "All of you have been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take home a medal, I hope that being here means that it has come true for you!  You should all be so proud, we know how hard you have worked to be the best of the best. Stay focused, keep going, my heart is with you!"

Celine was diagnosed with SPS in December 2022.

"I haven’t beat the disease, as it’s still within me and always will be. I hope that we’ll find a miracle, a way to cure it with scientific research, but for now I have to learn to live with it. So that’s me, now with Stiff Person Syndrome," she revealed in an interview with Vogue France in April.

The singer disclosed that she has been undergoing therapy for her health condition.

"Five days a week I undergo athletic, physical and vocal therapy. I work on my toes, my knees, my calves, my fingers, my singing, my voice… I have to learn to live with it now and stop questioning myself. At the beginning I would ask myself: why me? How did this happen? What have I done? Is this my fault?" she said.

The singer went on: "I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!"
