On Thursday, July 4, BlackOps Studios Asia shared images featuring Kapamilya actor Jericho Rosales in the first-look stills from their upcoming series, Sellblock. The images show Jericho as the series’ lead inside a prison, alongside stills with supporting cast members.

The show is being marketed globally by Los Angeles-based Blue Fox Entertainment, with plans for three seasons. Sellblock explores the inner workings of one of Asia's largest drug empires, which operates from within a maximum-security prison in the Philippines.

The announcement of Jericho's role in the prison drama was made in March 2022. Ruel S. Bayani, head of ABS-CBN's international production and co-production, expressed excitement over Jericho's involvement, citing his nearly three-decade career and reputation as one of the network's top talents and leading men.

“ABS-CBN is thrilled to announce that ‘Sellblock’ will be headlined by our very own Jericho Rosales. In his nearly three-decade-long career, Jericho has earned the title of ‘Asian Drama King’ and is one of our network’s finest homegrown talents and the country’s top leading men,”  Ruel said.

BlackOps also listed the project alongside other upcoming ventures in collaboration with their creative partner Psyops8 and co-production houses Story Arch Pictures and Agog Film Productions.

In May 2023, Jericho began filming for the series, revealing his character's name as Cenon Santiago. He shared behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot and expressed his excitement about returning to work. 

Speaking previously to PUSH, Jericho mentioned that he had several projects in the pipeline, although he couldn't reveal details at the time.

"I have a series in the works with a streaming platform and a couple of films that I am working on now. I can't announce them yet, but 'Sellblock' is what I can share for now," Jericho said. "Recently, I came back from the US and I am working on something. It's hard not to share details, but I am dying to talk about it."

Jericho's last television project was the ABS-CBN drama series Halik, which aired from 2018 to 2019. In addition to Sellblock, he is set to return to primetime TV with the upcoming ABS-CBN drama Lavender Fields, co-starring Jodi Sta. Maria, Janine Gutierrez, and Jolina Magdangal.
