Jayda Avanzado on adulting and her ideal man

<p>“I’m growing up in such a unique time and in a unique generation,” shares singer Jayda Avanzado in an exclusive interview with <a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/"><strong>PUSH</strong></a>. “But being a young adult right now, it comes with a lot of responsibilities.”</p><p>At 21 years old, Jayda is slowly coming into her own. As she makes her own way in the world, she is also making big decisions such as purchasing her condo unit. </p><p>“Honestly, ngayon mas lalo kong nararamdaman yung pagiging adult with certain things,” she shared. “I got my first condo unit and then things like that. And then managing certain things when it comes to investments.”</p><p>Being forward thinking, she intends for her condo to also double as her first foray into real estate investment. </p><p>“I haven’t moved out officially yet, but I’m slowly starting to get it together and to get it fixed before I move in or whatever I choose to do,” she said. “Because I’m also looking into the option of making it an investment because property is a good investment and things like that.”</p><p>Jayda remains thankful that she is able to reap the benefits of her hard work in the industry. During <em>The Original Prince of Pinoy Pop</em> concert presscon, Jayda admitted that she feels lucky to have supportive parents, even if things are not always perfect. </p><p>“I’ve tried to be a good daughter to both of them, but I’m not perfect and relationships are never perfect and we do go through things as a family,” she shared. </p><p>Jayda explained that part of the way she was raised was to maintain open and honest communication with each other. </p><p>“We have disagreements for sure. We have discussions kasi that was the way I was raised as well. You can have discussions about opinions but of course at the end of the day, you have to be respectful,” she explained. “I think things like that, I think healthy discourse is what relationships need.”</p><p>Jayda stressed that there was nothing wrong with having different perspectives on things and being vocal about them, as long as respect and love for each other remains. </p><p>“At the end of the day, what I’ve learned with my relationship with my parents is that you can have different opinions with certain things but at the end of the day, the love rules over everything. He and I were quite close back then,” said Jayda. “Honestly for me, when I think of Darren, I think of him as someone from my childhood in a way. I consider that age of 13, 14, 15, medyo parang child pa? I think of it that way as compared to now.”</p><p>Despite not being as close as before, Jayda is happy at the success of Darren’s career. </p><p>“I think fondly of the good times he and I have had and I always wish him the best, of course,” she said. “I saw that he had a concert recently so of course, congrats to him on that and I’m happy for his success.”</p><p>Jayda also admitted she is not seeing her <em>Teen Clash</em> leading man Aljon Mendoza anymore, even after the admitting they had been dating last year while working together. </p><p>“After the project, we didn’t really stay in touch as much as we were during that time, and probably the last time I spoke to him was on my birthday because he wished me happy birthday which I appreciated. His birthday is coming up as well, so we’ll probably do the same thing,” shared Jayda candidly. </p><p>“Honestly, I’ll always treasure ‘yung pinagsamahan namin ni Aljon. It’s no joke what he and I went through together as well as actors and as people. It means that from the really important things to his sense of who he is, which I think that’s really important because everything good tends to follow. As long as his values are in the right place as well,” she said. </p><p>Jayda also shared how important it was for her to have someone who would understand and support her career and passions. </p><p>“Ultimately, ‘yung taong magiging supportive din sa ginagawa ko, ‘yung makakaintindi sa ginagawa ko because ang industriyang ginagalawan ko is a really complicated one and I understand that not everyone can handle that and that’s okay,” she said. “But I guess it comes with the package deal of being with me, the acceptance that this is a big part of my life. It’s my passion in a lot of ways. It’s all I’ve ever known as well, from the moment I was born.
