“Lagi po siyang supportive,” shared Julia Montes in an interview about Coco Martin’s support of her career.

She recalled how they first worked together in the early stages of her career.

Julia recently hit a career milestone after receiving two awards at the 7th EDDYS Awards recognizing her exemplary talent in the movie Five Breakups and a Romance.

“Hanggang ngayon po, hindi po ako makapaniwala,” said the award-winning actress. “Sabi ko nga po, never naman akong umasa o nag-expect kapag may mga ganito, kasi ma-nominate ka palang po or masabi na ‘napanood ko’ or ‘nagustuhan ko ‘yung ginawa mo dun’ — ‘yun palang, reward na ‘yun.”

In her years in the industry, it was the first time that the Kapamilya actress had ever received an acting award for her performance in a movie. The accolades serve as a reminder of what she can still offer the industry, and inspire Julia to keep on practicing her craft.

“So ‘yung nangyari ngayong gabi, sobrang overwhelming for me,” she admitted.

Julia and Coco have both been busy in their respective projects, but the two were able to find time to squeeze in a vacation to Italy late last year.

Last June, Julia also posted some snapshots of their trip to Barcelona, Spain.

She admitted that traveling together does make for stronger relationships.

“Opo, kahit siguro sa magbabarkada po, kapag nagkakasama kayo out of the country or out of town, doon mo mas nakikilala,” she said.

“Masaya po,” she described their trip, saying that they were able to enjoy their downtime traveling abroad together.

To answer the public’s clamor for a Julia-Coco reunion project, Julia just has this to say: “Abangan niyo po, marami po kaming surprises this 2024.”

Julia has also confirmed her return to television via a new teleserye on her home network, ABS-CBN.

Ang ngayon, ginagawa na siya,” she said. “Abangan niyo po. ‘Pag pwede na i-announce, baka ma-surprise kayo.”

“Special po sa akin ‘yung project, plus ‘yung purpose po nung project is very special,” she explained, without going into much detail. “Marami pa po siyang activities more than the series itself.”
