Irish pop band The Script is finally coming back to Manila on February 11 next year for their Satellites World Tour at the SMART Araneta Coliseum in Cubao in Quezon City.

Local concert promoter Wilbros Live announced on their social media platform the date and venue of the much-awaited return of the band.

“Breaking News 🚨📢 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐏𝐓 is coming to MANILA with their 'Satellites World Tour' on February 11, 2025 at the Araneta Coliseum. Tickets go on-sale August 10 Saturday 10AM via TicketNet.com.ph and TicketNet outlets nationwide.

Further details such as ticket prices and fan benefits have yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, ticket selling will start on August 10, Saturday at 10 in the morning via TicketNet outlets nationwide and the TicketNet website.

The Manila leg is in line with the band’s upcoming world tour in Asia and Australia for next year.

“#TheScriptFamily We’re thrilled to announce that the Satellites World Tour is heading to ASIA & AUSTRALIA!! Check your local venue for on sale time and date. See you there!” the band penned in a post.

They also revealed some of the artists that will be coming with them on their tour in Australia, including American singer and songwriter Calum Scott. 

“Thank you @calumscott , @actualmontaigne , @xambassadors & @lottegallagher for coming with us! 🙌🎶,” they added.

Besides Manila, the band will also have their Asian stops in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.  The Satellites World Tour will kick off this August in Nashville, Tennessee in the US.

Besides their tour, the group is also gearing up for their upcoming album, Satellites, which will be released on August 16. Their new single “Both Ways” is also now available on all streaming platforms.

Filipino fans were quick to react to the upcoming Manila show of The Script.

“Omygosh first ph concert ng lima sila 🥹🥹,” a fan posted in X.

The band’s Philippine fanbase also expressed, “Thank you guys for bringing The Script here again and as always. See you all at the concert. ❤️”

Originally consisting of Danny O'Donoghue (lead vocalist, guitarist, pianist, keyboardist), Glen Power (drummers, percussionist, backing vocals), and Mark Sheehan (guitarist, vocals), the band was formed in 2001. After Mark passed away in 2023, Benjamin Sargent (bassist, backing vocals) and Ben Weaver (guitarist) joined the band in 2024.

Some of their popular singles include “Hall of Fame”, “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”, “For The First Time”, “Breakeven”, “We Cry”, and “Rain”, “Superheroes”, among others.

They last came to Manila in 2022 as part of their Greatest Hits Tour.

Last May, the band announced their comeback after months of hiatus.

“It’s been over a year since we lost our brother Mark, and it has been the toughest year of our lives. However, your love and support have carried us through, giving us the strength, inspiration, and hope to move forward,” Danny and Glen said in a post.

The duo then shared that the band will continue moving forward as a quartet but will cherish and give respect to the band’s legacy as a trio before.

“#TheScriptFamily means everything to us. Without you, there is no Script, so we wanted to share our plans with you first before we start this new chapter. We can't wait to see you on the road,” they added.
