Yce Navarro talks about his dream project and his role in ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’

<p>Yce Navarro talked about his first acting role in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/batangquiapo"><em><strong>FPJ’s Batang Quiapo</strong></em></a>. The son of Vhong Navarro has followed in his father&#x27;s footsteps to pursue a career in showbiz.</p><p>In an exclusive interview with PUSH Bets, Yce shared how he landed the role as Ruben, Pablo’s (Elijah Canlas) friend and right hand.</p><p>“During December or January, naghahanap lang po ako ng job since kakaalis ko lang sa events tapos kumatok bigla (ang) Dad ko. Sabi niya &#x27;Yce, pasok ka ng Batang Quiapo.&#x27; Like, joke ba ‘yon? Hindi ko alam kasi sobrang bilis niya lang sinabi, nagmamadali. Then eventually dumating nga ‘yung time na pinapatawag kami ni Direk CM (Coco Martin). Tapos doon pa lang nagsisink in na kasama ko na sila Elijah Canlas, Ara Davao, Jaime Fabregas. Like doon pa lang nagsi-sink in na totoo nga, totoo nga pala ‘to. Hindi na joke,” he added.</p><p>The newbie actor then shared that he previously worked with his uncle as an assistant director, who also trained him on the ways of working in production.</p><p>Working alongside stars in the hit Kapamilya action series also helped Yce achieve his ultimate goal and make his late grandfather proud.</p><p>“Ito na po kasi pangarap ko po kasi talaga ‘to, eh. Like ang tagal ko na po kasing tina-try mag artista. Nag audition po ako sa iba’t ibang stations, networks, pero wala pa rin. Tapos ‘yung Lolo ko po, rest in peace po, pero sobrang fan siya ni Coco Martin. Like, ‘pag nanonood siya ng TV, ‘yun lang, kung wala siya [Coco Martin], tulog.”</p><p>“Ayon sana proud siya sa akin. Binugbog ako ng idol niya,” he added.</p><p>Although his character has already left the show, Yce expressed gratitude for one of a kind experience he had working with the star-studded cast and learning from Coco himself.</p><p>“Sobrang saya. Sobrang thankful ako na sila ‘yung mga nakasama ko kasi sobrang babait. It’s so fun. So, may mga advice siya na binigay sa akin, kunyari ‘pag masama yung tingin ko sa isang tao dapat parang masama rin ‘yung iniisip ko talaga. Especially like, acting without saying anything, gano’n ‘yung mga advice siya sa akin. Dapat kitang galit ka, kahit wala kang sinasabi,” he continued.  </p><p>Yce said he is ready to take on more roles that people would love.</p><p>“Of course, iniisip ko na po mag audition. Gusto ko na pong bumalik sa harap ng camera. Gusto ko ibang role naman na hindi masama. Pero ayon, gusto ko maging mabuting support sa bida.” he expressed. “Para light lang, hindi yung masyadong mabigat. Kasi doon sa role ko before, parang… nanggigigil talaga ako.”</p><p>Yce also wants to work with dad Vhong if given a chance.</p><p>“Ayon po ‘yung pangarap ko actually. Gusto kong magka movie or teleserye kasama dad ko.
