Singer Matthaios and singer-actor Yow Andrada just released their new single "Tayo Sana" that expresses themes of hope, love, and the bittersweet nature of relationships.

In an exclusive interview with PUSH, the two artists shared the story behind their collaboration single.

“It's about a... ako ah, my side. Disclaimer. My side, it's about a breakup. So, yun lang naman yung easiest na explanation doon,” Matthaios said.

Meanwhile, Yow, who also wrote the song and directed its music video, added, “On my side. Well, actually, technically kasi hindi ako nagsusulat for myself. So, kung ano man yun na isulat ko doon, it is based from another person's perspective. That’s art.”

As per the press release, Matthaios and Yow’s latest single “dives deep into the emotions of longing and nostalgia, resonating with anyone who has ever hoped for a second chance in a relationship.”

The lyrics “reflect a story of love and regret, capturing the essence of what it means to wait for someone special,” where its chorus “perfectly encapsulates the yearning to be the one that matters most.”

When asked what the meaning behind their music video, the two friends shared how they interpret the song in a different but parallel point of view

“Okay, for me, being hopeful in a state na kahit walang kasiguraduhan, ginagawa mo pa rin yung mga bagay na gusto mong magawa para sa kanya,” Yow explained.

Matthaios added, “Malalim yung akin eh… Eh, ako, interpretation ko naman doon. Eh, ginagawa niya yung mga favorite food nung past partner niya. Ako yun ha. Disclaimer. Favorite food nung past partner niya. And parang ano lang siya, delulu na. Kaya nung kakain na siya sa dulo, wala naman pala siyang kasama. Very delulu lang, ganun.”

Yow continued, “Lahat ng ginawa naming art, nasa inyo na yung meaning. That’s all on your part na.”

When asked if they would like other artists to give a different dynamic to their new single, Matthaios and Yow revealed that they would want singer-songwriters TJ Monterde, Daniel Paringit, and Zack Tabudlo to join them.

“Ako, I would love to have siguro, I don't know if you know, Daniel Paringit. Mmm. Upcoming artist siya. And then, he sings well and also, he do guitar well. Ang galing niya mag-lead. Yung batang yan, sarap sapakin mo na. Love ko yun. Ayan, oo, Daniel Paringit. Oo nga, maganda flavor yung may lalagay niya doon,” Yow remarked.

“Pinapakinggan ko lately, TJ Monterde,” Matthaios said.

The two then shared that they planned to make a trilogy of the song that would be released some time this year or next year.

Talking about their career plans for the future, the two friends shared that they are looking forward to touring around the country together.

“Ako, career plans ko, yun talaga, gusto ko talaga mag-out of country tour,” Matthaios shared. “Oo, yun talaga, para nakakapag-travel na ako, tapos nakakapag-perform pa and nabibigyan ng opportunity na makilala ko yung mga nasa malalayo... And gusto kong maging consistent sa release ko.”

Yow continued, “Music career wise, of course, yung tour talaga. Yun yung isa sa pinakamasaya for me. And makapag-release ng mga kanta na alam kong masasatisfy ko yung sarili ko.”

Matthaios has made waves on the local music scene with some of his hit songs, including "Binibini", “Vibe With Me,” “Catriona,” “I Want You Back,” a Visayan pop song "Pangga", among others.

Yow, a member of popular content creators Team Payaman, also dived into the music industry with his singles "Hangin" and "Walang Wakas". He is also part of some television series, such as Walang KaparisQuizon CT, and more.
