"Sobrang lala na nakaka-trauma talaga."

These were the words of It's Showtime host Lassy as he described his experience during Super Typhoon Carina which submerged his house in flood water.

In the recent vlog of thebBeks Batallion, Lassy showed the condition of his house following the typhoon.

‘Yung lahat back to [zero]," he said.

The appliances and other household items on the first floor were all submerged in flood water. He believes that the damages on the first floor alone have reached half a million pesos.

Lassy recounted that he was the sole person who was left in their house as he prioritized his family transfering into the next house that had a terrace where they could be rescued.

Lassy got stuck in their house until the afternoon. "Umabot ako ng hapon pa kasi walang rescue eh."

This was the second time that Lassy experienced major flooding in the same house, but he described this time around as a more devastating ordeal.

Sobrang lala na nakaka-trauma talaga," he said.

He went on: "Nakakapagod pero kaya naman.

The rescue boat which his family was riding in capsized during the rescue operations and the urn of his father got submerged in water.

The next day when the water started to subside, Lassy alongside his cousin looked for the urn and fortunately they were able to retrieve it.

Fans online expressed support for Lassy after the vlog was posted.

"Stay strong Lassy!

"Lassy, I admire you being so strong. When God closes a door, somewhere He opens a window. God sees you and He knows the desires of your heart, keep trusting the Lord," another fan wrote.

From a tropical cyclone, Carina developed into a super typhoon on July 24.

The government declared Metro Manila under a state of calamity on the same date due to the typhoon.

As per Republic Act No. 10121 or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010, a state of calamity is declared when "a condition involving mass casualty and/or major damage to property, disruption of means of livelihood, roads, and normal way of life of people in the affected areas, as a result of the occurrence of natural or human-induced hazard."
